4. damage The fuse will burn out and automatically shut off the power if the motor is overloaded An excessive overload such as too heavy a rider or too steep a hill could cause the motor to overheat Replace the fuse s with a new one of equal amperage Correct the conditions that caused the fuse to burn out and avoid repeatedly burning out fuse Contact your local Razor authorized service center for diagnosis and repair Short run time less than 15 minutes per charge Undercharged battery Battery is old and will not accept full charge Brakes are not adjusted properly Charge the battery A new battery should have been charged for at least 12 hours before using the motor bike for the first time and up to 12 hours after each subsequent use Check all wires and connectors Make sure the battery connector is tightly plugged into the charger connector and that the charger is plugged into the wall Even with proper care a rechargeable battery does not last forever Average battery life is 1 to 2 years depending on use of product and conditions Replace only with a Razor replacement battery Refer to brake adjustment instructions on page 5 of this manual Motor bike runs sluggishly Sometimes the motor doesn t run but other times it does Riding conditions are too stressful Tires are not properly inflated Motor bike is overloaded Loose wires or connectors Motor or electrical switch damage Use only on s

PROPRIATE RIDER USE AND PARENTAL SUPERVISION This manual contains important safety information It is your responsibility to review this information and make sure that all riders understand all warnings cautions instructions and safety topics and assure that young riders are able to safely and responsibly use this product Razor USA recommends that you periodically review and reinforce the information in this manual with younger riders and that you inspect and maintain your child s product to insure their safety The recommended rider age 14 for the MX500 and 16 for the MX650 is only an estimate and can be affected by the rider s size weight or skills Any rider unable to fit comfortably on the Dirt Rocket should not attempt to ride it A parent s decision to allow his or her child to ride this product should be based on the child s maturity skill and ability to follow rules Keep this product away from small children and remember that this product is intended for use only by persons who are at a minimum completely comfortable and competent while operating the product DO NOT EXCEED THE WEIGHT LIMIT OF 175 pounds for the MX500 and 220 pounds for the MX650 Rider weight does not necessarily mean a person s size is appropriate to fit or maintain control of the Dirt Rocket Do not touch the brakes or electric motor on your electric motorbike when in use as they can become very hot Refer to the section on safety for additional warnings

9. es whenever loose If you have any doubt ask an experienced motorcycle or STE Sl TAC fa ae ca bicycle mechanic to inspect ad your spokes to determine if Nipple NES the spokes need tightening or ead A adjusting 1 Verify the spoke tension by shaking each spoke with your fingers 2 Start with spoke closest to the Spoke should not be loose from hub Look for any play between tire valve stem and tighten each where the spoke flanges attach to the hub Try to turn the nipple us nipple in sequence exactly 1 4 ing your fingers You should not be able to spin any nipple by hand If to 1 2 turn A single 1 4 to 1 2 one or more spokes is loose all spokes must be checked and need to turn may not be enough to bring be tightened with a spoke wrench the spokes into proper tension Continue tightening all spokes no more than 1 2 turn in sequence until all spokes are tight Note More than a 1 2 turn each can cause the wheel to become distorted and wobbly thus perma nently damaging the wheel A Chain and Sprocket The chain will typically e a loose spot and tight spot corresponding with a particular sprocket dh warnine rotational position This is normal and common to all chain driven products due to run out tolerances of the TO avoid a pinch or injury keep freewheel and sprocket The chain should be adjusted to the ideal tension with chain in the tightest spot fingers away from moving s
10. len wrench located in the plastic bag not move forward or back Q Attaching the Front Fender F MN 1 Align fender with the hole in the fork and insert the bolt Tighten securely using a 10mm open wrench and 5mm Allen wrench Attaching the Number Plate 1 Remove screw from front fork Align the number plate with the hole in the fork and tighten with a Phillips screw driver Need Help Visit our website for replacement parts product support and a list of authorized service centers at Www razor com or call toll free at 866 467 2967 Monday Friday 8 00 AM 5 00 PM Pacific Time 3 ASSEMBLY AND SET UP Installing the Front Wheel Ju O G E BAAD O 1 Position wheel in front fork and slide disk brake into caliper 3 With a 14mm and 17mm open wrench tighten the front wheel screws Inflating the Tires Washer Nut xa 2 Slide axle through fork spacer and wheel hub When axle passes through the other side of the wheel hub add the other spacer and slide though the fork Secure with washer and nut Note Front axle is installed with the spacer between the fork and wheel for all Dirt Rockets Note If your model has one short spacer it goes on the side of the hub with the disc brake Note where front axle is located in box Tires are inflated when shipped but they invariably lose some pressure between the point of ma
11. lug charger into the charger port on the electric motor bike 1 Plug the charger plug into a wall outlet If the lights on the charger do not light up check the power to the outlet If nec essary try a different outlet REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE Check the Razor website for any updates on the latest repair and maintenance procedures Turn power switch OFF before conducting any maintenance procedures Adjusting the Brakes Tools required 5mm Allen wrench 5 O 2 Ifthe brake has too much slack loosen the rear anchor bolt with a 5mm Allen wrench and pull the brake wire tighter The distance of the brake wire between the end of the cable and the anchor bolt should be between 37mm and 44mm 3 Ifthe brake rotor is dragging on the brake pads use your fingers to twist the caliper adjuster in either direction until rotor is cen tered between pads 1 To adjust the tension thread the brake lever adjuster in or out 1 4 to 1 2 turn until the desired brake adjustment is attained Most adjustments are complete at this step If brake still needs further adjustment proceed to step 2 for rear brake Testing the Brakes To use the brakes squeeze the levers to increase the pressure on the brake The brake levers are fitted with a cable adjuster to compensate for cable stretch and or to fine tune the lever movement to brake engagement If brakes are not engaging properly follow instructions for adjusting the b
12. nufacturing and your purchase Using a bicycle tire pump equipped for Schrader valves inflate the tires to the PSI indicated on the sidewall of the tire A WARNING Failing to properly adjust and tighten the nuts and bolts that affix the fork can cause you to lose control and fall Note The pressurized air supplies found at gasoline stations are designed to inflate high volume automobile tires If you decide to use such an air supply to inflate your tires first make sure the pressure gauge Is working then use very short bursts to inflate to the correct PSI If you inadvertently over inflate the tire release the excess pressure immediately BEFORE RIDING Charging the Battery Your electric motorbike may not have a fully charged battery therefore it is a good idea to charge the battery prior to use e Initial charge time 12 hours e Recharge time up to 12 hours depending on level of depletion e Fully charge battery before storing e When the scooter is not in regular use recharge the battery at least once a month until normal use is resumed e Run time Up to 40 minutes of continuous ride time Run time may vary depending on riding conditions climate and or proper maintenance e Average battery life 250 charge discharge cycles e To ensure long battery life do not store the battery in temperatures above 75 or below 10 F Charger N 2 Turn OFF power switch before charging P
