1. Installation of Atrium Series Loudspeakers requires basic skills in using tools such as a drill and screwdriver If you are in doubt that you possess the necessary skills or tools consult your Polk Audio dealer or a professional installer e Make certain that the location you plan to mount the Powered speaker is near a standard household AC power source Use he cord on the external power supply to judge convenient distance It s a good idea to leave the speaker unplugged until the installation is finished see hookup instructions on the previous page e Check for obstacles that could hinder a cable run from your remote installation location to your receiver or processor e Make sure the material on which you plan to mount the speakers plaster drywall paneling stone etc can support the weight of the speakers Atrium 45 powered 8lbs 3 6kg Atrium 45 passive 6lbs 2 7kg e Make sure the locations you select do not conceal electrical wiring or plumbing INSTALLATION Les supports pivotants des Atrium vous permettent d installer es enceintes verticalement ou horizontalement et de les orienter pour obtenir la propagation sonore optimale Suivez les tapes ci dessous pour installer les supports et les enceintes de a on s curitaire Lorsque vous d terminez le lieu d installation des enceintes n oubliez pas qu une d entre elles est active et doit tre branch e dans une prise de courant CA pour fonctionne2. Self Powered Atrium Speakers makes it easy to take your music with you to remote locations You can even use them to add superb stereo sound to a non amplified source such as a television One speaker in the pair is the Powered speaker It has a built in power amplifier and must be plugged into a standard household AC power source in order to operate The other speaker is the Passive non powered speaker which is run by power from the Powered speaker This passive speaker can be placed as near or far from the Powered Speaker as is convenient Your Atrium Powered Speaker can be either the left or right speaker of a stereo pair depending on convenient placement near a standard household AC power source Use the balance control of your electronics to send the signal alternately to the left and then to the right If you find stereo imaging is backwards after you ve hooked up the Line Level inputs simply switch the 1 amp 2 inputs to flip flop the Left amp Right stereo images Hookup 1 Line Level figure 7 Use this hookup option for Multi Zone separate electronic zone controls Television audio Left amp Right outputs from TV Portable Music Device use a stereo mini plug connected to twin male RCA plugs available at RadioShack e Turn your source electronics off e Attach Line Level connections from your receiver pre amp output or TV set audio out jack to the L amp R Line Level Inputs on the back pa
