Cleaning and Care Cleaning the water inlet filter A filter is incorporated into the intake hose attached to the dishwasher s shut off valve lf your water is hard or the pipes contain sediment this filter may clog and prevent enough water from entering the wash cabinet A The plastic housing of the water connection contains electrical wiring Do not cut the intake hose or submerge it in liquid Installing an in line water filter If your water contains a large number of insoluble substances a filter between the water valve and the intake hose connection is recommended These filters can be purchased from Miele Cleaning the filter m Turn off the dishwasher and pull the plug m Turn off the water supply m Unscrew the intake hose m Carefully remove the rubber seal m Remove the filter using needle nose pliers and rinse it under running water m Reinsert the filter and seal Make sure they are seated correctly m Screw the intake hose back on the water valve checking that it is not cross threaded m Slowly turn on the water supply and test for leaks 15 Cleaning and Care Cleaning the drain pump and non return valve If the dishwasher is not completely drained at the end of a program the drain pump or non return valve may be blocked m Turn off the dishwasher and pull the plug m Remove the triple filter see Triple filter system m Use a cup or bowl to scoop water out of t

Only use water softener salt specially formulated for dishwashers Other salts may contain insoluble additives which can impair the water softener If using Tab products which include salt still add salt to the machine to achieve optimal cleaning results and ensure long term functioning of the water softener 16 m Remove the lower basket from the wash cabinet and unscrew the salt container lid When opening the salt container water will run out Open the container only to refill salt Important The salt container must be filled with 2 quarts 2 1 of water before adding salt for the first time so the salt can dissolve properly Water does not have to be added with subsequent refills Before using for the first time m Place the provided funnel over the salt container and carefully fill it with salt The salt container holds approx 4 4 lbs 2 kg of salt depending on the type of salt m Clean any excess salt from the threads of the container opening Screw the lid on firmly m Immediately after each refill run the Rinse amp Hold program without the Turbo function without a load This will remove any traces of salt from inside the wash cabinet Salt refill message m When the display shows Insufficient salt refill the salt after the program has finished m Confirm with OK The message will clear from the display If a sufficiently high concentration of salt has not yet formed the Insuffi
