MTV 34 51 68 Smart Very Smart O 26 oD ou E ET F m f CALL THE MAGNAVOX HOTLINE lt 1300 654 488 cer 0800 328 280 nO USE AND CARE MANUAL QUICK START NB For connection of Television directly to Wall socket or indoor antenna Only For connection to other equipment such as VCR etc refer to page 7 1 Carefully Unpack your Magnavox television ensuring the following items are present Instruction Booklet 2 Magnavox Hotline Number Se Remote Control AA size batteries for remote Control 5 e Magnavox Product Flyer Brochure 0000900 75 Ohm antenna Lead 2 Carefully remove electrostatic sticker from television screen Read through the instruction booklet and familiarise yourself with the operation of the product 4 Connect the antenna lead supplied to the aerial terminal located on the back panel of the television set refer page 6 Locations Of Controls and the other end to the aerial wall socket in your home If using an indoor antenna plug this directly into the aerial terminal located on the back panel of the television refer page 6 Locations of Controls 5 Connect your Magnavox Colour Television to the power outlet

Do not operate the appliance with a damaged supply cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions has been dropped or damaged in any way Consult an authorised service facility or similarly qualified person for examination When cleaning the picture tube face turn off television and remove plug from power outlet Using a dry cloth wipe the television ensuing that no dust or lint enters any vents This product has not been designed for any other uses other than those specified in this booklet This product is intended for household use only All television receivers are high voltage instruments Your PICTURE TUBE is highly evacuated If broken glass fragments will be violently expelled Scratching chipping or putting undue pressure on the tube is dangerous and should be avoided During thunder and lighting unplug the power cord and antenna cord to prevent your TV set from damage All inside work on your receiver should be performed by an authorised repair agent 3 PRODUCT FEATURES SPECIFICATIONS Thank you very much for your purchase of this product To enjoy your set to the full from the very beginning read this manual carefully and keep it handy for ready reference INSTALLATION Locate the receiver in the room where direct light does not strike the screen Total darkness or a reflection on the picture screen can cause eyestrain Soft and indirect lighting is recommended for comfortable viewing Allo

If you wish to set the correct stations on the corresponding channels see Channel Position 1 Press PRE button on the remote control to display the preset menu 2 Press PA PV channel button to select AUTO SEARCH item 3 Press VOLA VOLV volume button to start auto search NOTE You can store the TV channels from 0 position in numeral sequence The channel position will be 0 again when search is finished The colour of 0 turns green when the program has been searched Otherwise it turns red 8 Magnavox Smart Very Smart PRESET MENU OPERATION CHANNEL POSITION 1 Press the PRE button on the remote control to select the PRESET page Every 10 seconds the present menu will flick off the screen Continue to press the pre button to re instate the menu 2 When in the PRESET mode use the remote control VOLA VOLV buttons to select the number for the station you want to use on the remote control eg on the first line marked pos select the channel you wish to set up Press the channel number on the remote control till the channel number is displayed in the pos position If you want to select Channel 9 the number 9 button is pressed To select a two digit number the _ _ button on the remote control must be pressed first 3 Press the button again to select the REM line Use the VOLA VOLV buttons to toggle the REM On or Off and select OFF 4 Next pres
4. program you want UJ A c 2 9 Magnavox Smart Very Smart CLOCK MENU OPERATION Press the MENU button on the set four times or the CLOCK button on the remote control to display the clock menu x o 2 ca 24 HOUR CLOCK SETTING The clock must be set before you select the other items 1 Press PA PV button to select TIME item 2 Press VOLV button to set the hour Press VOL V button to set the minute NB If you turn off the set at the wall or on the set itself you will have to reset the clock ON TIME AND OFF TIME 1 Press PA PV button to select ON TIME or OFF TIME item The green colour turns red 2 Press VOLV button to set the hour Press VOL V button to set the minute NOTE When ON TIME item is set press POWER button on the remote control Make sure the TV set is under stand by mode When OFF TIME item is set the SLEEP function is cancelled automatically PROMPT Prompting the time amp Presetting the position 1 Press PA PV button to select PROMPT or CH TIME item The green colour turns red 2 Press VOLV button to set the hour Press VOL V button to set the minute NOTE Presetting the position For example the time is 16 20 and the position is at channel 5 at present If CH TIME is preset at 17 00 and the position is preset to channel 8 the position will change to channel 8 automatically while the time is 17
