Kathrein for direct reception in residential areas BZD 30 DVB T TV cannot work miracles however you must be receiving a good quality signal You may encounter problems in concrete buildings if you are using only an in door antenna If you are using or have to use an active antenna that is an antenna with a pre amplifier you can power it from the receiver s antenna input The default setting in the receiver is OFF to prevent any damage from occurring Be sure to use an antenna tuned to a 5 Volt supply such as the BZD 30 from Kathrein Connect the UFT 171si TV Scart socket and the TV set by a Scart cable If your TV has stereo capability you can receive the sound in stereo via the Scart connection If you want to play the sound on your hi fi system connectthe audiocinchsocketstotheinputsocketsonthe hi fi system with an appropriate cable Connection and Setup Dolby Connection IR Receiver Accessory The S PDIF data stream output AC 3 is intended for connection to a Dolby Digital system The infrared receiver allows you to place the receiver in a concealed location Connect the infrared receiver to the IR SENSOR socket and position it in line of sight of the remote control Inserting Batteries in the Remote Control ti Remove the cover on the rear of the remote control Insert the two batteries supplied into the remote control ensuring correct polarity this is shown on the base of the batt

12. enu V Sam WELS N il I i Menu 11 Using the Front Panel Display Using the Front Panel Display The unit has three operating buttons on its front panel You can use the Standby button on the left to switch the receiver from Standby to active and back again The two arrow buttons on the right side front are used to switch programmes There are two possible ways of installing the receiver horizontal vertical To enable you to view the readouts on the display at all times we have installed two displays on the UFT 171si one for horizontal installation and one for vertical You can choose on the Installation menu which display you want to activate see Installation System Setup Setting the LED Operation Programme Selection TV and Radio For ideal reception your terrestrial antenna must be optimally aligned Use the X buttons to select the next or previous pro gramme To select a programme from the TV list programme list press the x button TV List arte Phoenix EinsPlus RTL2 Select the programme using the v a buttons and press to view it The selected programme appears in full screen view mode You can move from page to page in this list and the following ones using the 2 gt buttons You can also select a programme using the number pad buttons Leading zeroes e g 001 for the first programme in the TV list must n
