6. 3 Cancel or change programme setting To cancel a programme press X when the Programme screen you do not want is shown PROGRAM COMPLETED appears on the TV screen for about 5 seconds then the normal screen appears To change a programme press the appropriate button START STOP DATE PR VPS PDC and or SP LP EP 4 47 when the Programme screen on which you want to make changes is shown then press OK PROGRAM COMPLETED appears on the TV screen for about 5 seconds then the normal screen appears NOTE If the overlap is not yet solved or another overlap occurs with the timer programme setting after making the last correction on a programme the conflicting programmes will be shown on the Programme Check screen again Repeat the above steps again until the overlap is solved 36 EN TIMER RECORDING cont e e A t t t t ATTENTION U 0 m d IC a e l e Be sure not to turn on the satellite receiver before the programme is executed otherwise the recorder will start recording when the satellite receivers power is turned on e If you have connected another appliance other than a p ro ra m m e satellite receiver to the AV2 L 2 IN DECODER connector be sure not to engage the Automatic Satellite Programme Recording mode otherwise the recorder will start R e C 0 r d n g recording when the connected appliance s power is turned on e Automatic Satellite Programme Recording and timer recording cannot
7. aw Le OOO 1 Recording Resume Function If there is a power outage during recording Instant Timer Recording F pg 25 or timer recording pg 30 32 34 the recording will resume automatically when power is restored to the recorder unless the recorder memory backup has expired RECORDING Hl Load a cassette Insert a cassette with the record safety tab intact The recorder s power comes on automatically While is blinking on the front display panel the tape will run for a few seconds to search for the tape number 2 Choose a programme Press PR or the number keys Or push the JOG dial and turn it to the left or right to select the channel you wish to record 3 Set the tape speed Press SP LP EP AMA Check the SP LP EP indicator on the recorder s front display panel to confirm the selected tape speed In EP mode the recording time is extended three times If you record a programme in EP mode on this recorder it is recommended to play back the EP recorded tape on this recorder It is not possible to select EP mode if COLOUR SYSTEM is set to MESECAM pg 71 4 Start recording Press and hold and press on the remote control or press on the recorder e If O S D is set to ON I pg 69 MARK blinks on the screen while an index code is being marked B E S T takes place a

PLAYBACK cont Index Search Your recorder automatically marks index codes at the beginning of each recording Additional index codes can be added manually during playback See below This function gives you quick access to any one of 9 index codes in either direction NOTE Before starting make sure the recorder is in the Stop mode Activate Index Search Press lt or gt lt 4 or BPI kad 1 or gt P 1 is displayed on the TV screen and search begins in the corresponding direction To access index codes 2 through 9 press lt or gt repeatedly until the correct index number is displayed Example To locate the beginning of B from the current position press lt twice To locate the beginning of D from the current position press gt once v 2 i 1 2 3 lt Current position i Index number When the specified index code is located playback begins automatically Manual Index Mark Erase To mark an index code during playback press INDEX MARK on the recorder The recorder will mark an index code at that location e If O S D is set to ON I pg 69 MARK blinks on the screen while an index code is being marked To erase an index code during playback or still press INDEX ERASE on the recorder e The recorder will fast forward to the nearest index code and erase it Playback continues after the index code is erased e If O

14. pg 22 Video Navigation may not work properly depending on the tape being used If the recorder finds two tape numbers in one tape while playing back or searching for the beginning of a programme then when you remove the tape the tape will be assigned just one number smaller number e The programme information is stored in this recorder s memory If the memory in this recorder should ever be damaged and the programme information lost it is impossible to restore that information e After recording a tape with this recorder write the tape number on a label and affix the label to the cassette in order to allow you to find the tape by its number 44 in Find Blank Space This function is useful for finding out the blank space on each cassette and recording a new programme there continuing Perform steps 1 to 2 of Check Memory on page 42 before i Access the Find Blank Space screen Press AV to move the highlight bar pointer to FIND BLANK SPACE then press OK or D VIDEO NAVIGATION EDIT TITLE FIND TITLE Lr FIND BLANK SPAC CHECK MEMORY NAVIGATION AY MENU EXIT VIDEO NAVIGATION cont Edit Title You can edit the tape title and the programme titles as you like You can also select the category for each programme In short you can use the Video Navigation function to create your own video tape library Turn on the TV and select the video channel or AV mode
