Karaoke indicator MIC jack MIC LEVEL VOLUME Echo indicator When the System is in use the display shows other items as well For simplicity we show here only the items described in this section By attaching a microphone not supplied to the MIC jack you can use the System for Karaoke or microphone mixing You can also add an echo to the microphone s sound 44 CAUTION Always set the MIC LEVEL control on the Unit to MIN when connection or disconnecting the mi crophone Note e When you will not be the microphone keep the MIC LEV EL control set to MIN and disconnect the microphone Singing Along with Karaoke The Vocal Masking function lets you use regular tapes CDs or records as sources for Karaoke When you select Karaoke mode the lead vocal volume of the source is reduced and you can replay it by singing into the microphones as the music plays 1 Turn the MIC LEVEL control on the Unit to MIN 2 Connect a microphone by plugging it into the MIC jack Press the KARAOKE button on the Remote Control The Karaoke indicator comes 4 Starts a source CD tape or other equipment 29 5 Adjust the volume as you sing into the microphone To adjust the volume use the MIC LEVEL control and VOL UME control on the Unit or the VOLUME button on the Remote Control To exit Karaoke mode press the KARAOKE button on the Re mote Control again The Karaok

Using the CD Player Digital Audio CDs MP3 Discs J When you use an 8 cm CD place it on the inner circle of the tray J You can load CDs while listening to the other source J When power is turned off with the tray opened the tray is auto matically closed _IIf the CD cannot be read correctly because it is scratched for example 0 0 00 appears on the display To Unload CDs Take out the CD as shown below 1 While the CD Player is stopped press the CD Open Close button on the Unit to open the tray 2 Remove the CD then press the DISC SKIP button on the Unit The tray turns for the next CD Repeat step 2 to remove all the CDs 4 Press the CD Open Close button on the Unit to close the tray _J You can remove CDs while listening to the other source Note You can also remove the CDs during playback However in this case you can only remove the CDs that are not be ing played back 12 Using the CD Player Digital Audio CDs MP3 Discs Basics of Using the CD Player Normal Play To Play CDs 1 Load CDs 2 Press one of the Disc button CD1 CD3 you want to play The selected disc number e g 1 appears on the dis play The first track of the selected CD begins playing When the first CD finishes playing the next and the third CDs are con tinuously played back When the last CD has finished playing the CD Player auto matically stops

The unit can play back the following types of disc Digital Audio CD MP3 disc CD R CD RW You can use Normal Program Random or Repeat Play Normal Play Can continuously play all the tracks on all Selected Disc indicator 4 the CDs Disc Rotation indicator Program Play Can play all the programmed tracks on all the CDs in the programmed order Random Play Can play all the tracks on all the CDs in ran dom order Disc Number indicator The Disc indicator consists of the following three kinds of indicators Disc Number indicator Lights all the time Repeat Play Can repeat all the tracks on all the CDs the Selected Disc indicator Lights for the currently selected tracks on one of the CDs or just one of disc number tracks one CD Disc Rotation indicator Runs when the selected CD is playing or paused This indicator goes out if a CD is not loaded for amp CAUTIONS the selected disc number When you use Program Play or Random Play ne use only Audio CDs Otherwise the System ee ee does not work properly i the empty disc number is select If system error occurs please recover it by turn ed the Disc Rotation indicator for ing off the power once or by changing the source the disc number goes out mode to others Then eject the tray and remove the disc which is not supported e Some MP3 discs may not be properly played back due to their disc format Here are the basic thi

TV for NTSC exclusive TV NTSC PAL NTSC Notes e During disc searching this function does not respond e If you play CD of NTSC system in NTSC system a PAL exclusive TV the image may be distorted If this hap pen change to PAL Selecting the Audio Channel This function may be used for video CDs that support multiplex function In addition to the normal stereo sound output you can se lect L channel or R channel independently Press the MPX button on the Remote Control Each time you press the button the selected channel changes as follows NORMAL Stereo gt Lch MONO gt Rch MONO gt back to the beginning When Lech MONO or Rech MONO is selected the first push of the button will show the current selection e The channel selection returns to NORMAL Stereo when the CD is ejected or changed or other source e g FM AM is selected or when the system is turned off 16 Using the Video CD Player Video CDs Playing Video CDs with PBC Function VCD 2 0 The System provides a Playback Control PBC function which utilizes a procedure menu selection programmed in a video CD What is the Playback Control PBC function The PBC function allows you to enjoy the following features Menu driven playback You can interact with the TV screen using a menu display to se lect and play an entry High resolution still image display You can display high

W but ton while the CD Player is stopped the program is deleted Using the CD Player Digital Audio CDs MP3 Discs To Exit and Re enter Program Play The program you have made 15 stored in memory So you can exit Program Play temporarily or re enter Program Play unless you de lete the program To exit the program mode once while the CD Player is stopped press the PROGRAM button on the Unit or the PRO GRAM RANDOM button on the Remote Control to light off the indicator By changing the source to the other e g Tun er the CD Player also exits Program Play mode To re enter Program Play mode press the PROGRAM or PROGRAM RANDOM button until the indicator lights up again Random Play The tracks of all the CDs will play in no special order when you use this mode To use Repeat Play for Random Play press the REPEAT but ton to select ALL or 1 before starting playback For details see Repeating Tracks mentioned below 1 In Stop mode set the CD Player in Random Play mode On the Unit Press the RANDOM button to light the RANDOM indicator At the same time RANDOM appears on the display On the Remote Control Press the PROGRAM RANDOM button until the RANDOM appears on the display The RANDOM indicator also lights up on the display Each time you press the button the display changes as follows PROGRAM RANDOM gt Blank display Normal Play
