U Display button 26 The Display button is used to display information about the current input source signal Each time you press the display button the screen changes to show you different information concerning the input signal Dimmer button Press to set the brightness of the front display There are 3 settings available normal dark and very dark FM Mode button 23 When there is too much noise in the stereo reception of an FM broadcast press to turn off the FM MUTE function o Preset Memory button 24 This button is used to assign the radio station that is currently tuned in to a preset channel or delete a previously preset station 1 Tuning lt gt buttons 23 Use these buttons to change the tuner frequency The tuner frequency is displayed in the front display and it can be changed in 50 kHz increments for FM and 10 kHz increments for AM When FM is selected you can hold down one of the tuning buttons and then release it to activate the auto search feature It will search for a station in the direction of the button you pressed and stop when it tunes into one Preset lt gt buttons 24 When AM or FM is selected as the input source press one of these buttons to jump to a radio station that you preset using the Preset Memory button Pressing the right button moves from the most recently preset station to older ones and pressing the left button moves in the reverse order Remote controller

MUTING Activates the muting function at the DTR 5 2 37 Learning a pre programming code The remote controller has three learning functions One is entering the signal number for a remote controller of another brand that is pre programmed Another is a normal learning function that enables the remote controller to learn the codes from other remote controllers And the last is a macro learning function that enables you to program a series of operations into the remote controller so that the operations can all be performed at once by pressing one button SEND LEARN indicator RANDOM _ _oPEN cLOSE I I I i J Numeric keys I 1 DISPLAY Caution With some brand s components some buttons may not work correctly In this case program the command separately 38 Learning a pre programming code By learning a pre programming code you can make the RC 441M remote controller able to operate a product from another brand The buttons that are used for operation are given on the next page 1 Find the 3 digit number for the brand name of the component that you want to operate in the table on the next page 2 Turn on the component that you want to operate i e DVD satellite tuner or television 3 While holding down the MODE button on the RC 441M that you want to program press the DISPLAY button and then release both buttons The SEND LEARN indicator l

13. the use of an outdoor antenna is recommended Connecting the AM loop antenna The AM loop antenna is for indoor use only Set it in the direction and position where you receive the clearest sound Put it as far away as possible from the DTR 5 2 televisions speaker cables and power cords When reception is not satisfactory with the attached AM loop antenna alone connection of an outdoor antenna is recommended Indoor AM loop antenna FM antenna _ SS A G CGH ANTENNA Strip away the insulation from the end of the cable then fully insert the stripped end of the cable Hint Either of the split ends of the AM antenna can be connected to either terminal Unlike speaker cabling there is no polarity for AM broadcast signals 19 Connecting antennas Connecting an FM outdoor antenna Directional linkage Please make sure that you follow the considerations Do not use the same antenna for both FM and TV or VCR reception since the FM and TV or VCR signals can interfere with e Keep the antenna away from noise sources neon signs busy each other If you must use a common FM TV or VCR antenna use roads etc a directional linkage type splitter e It is dangerous to put the antenna close to power lines Keep it well away from power lines transformers etc To avoid the risk of lightning and electrical shock grounding is necessary Follow item
