7. 5 rounditor 5w 23 8 NC 16 Hot Plug Detect 24 TMDSCleck DDC Serial clock e 10 22 Plug and Play DDC2B Feature This monitor is equipped with VESA DDC2B capabilities according to the VESA DDC STANDARD It allows the monitor to inform the host system of its identity and depending on the level of DDC used communicate additional information about its display capabilities The DDC2B is a bi directional data channel based on the I C protocol The host can request EDID information over the DDC2B channel LCD Monitor Quality and Pixel Policy The HP LCD Monitor uses high precision technology manufactured according to high standards to help guarantee trouble free performance Nevertheless the display may have cosmetic imperfections that appear as small bright or dark spots This is common to all LCD displays used in products supplied by all vendors and is not specific to the HP LCD Monitor These imperfections are caused by one or more defective pixels or subpixels e A pixel consists of one red one green and one blue subpixel e A defective whole pixel is always turned on a bright spot on a dark background or it is always off a dark spot on a bright background The first is the more visible of the two e A defective subpixel dot defect is less visible than a defective whole pixel and is small and only visible on a specific background To locate defective pixels the monitor should be viewed

12. ce power consumption when the product is not in use The power management feature enables the computer to initiate a low power or sleep mode after a period of user inactivity When used with an external ENERGY STARQ qualified display this feature also supports similar power management features for the display To take advantage of these potential energy savings users should use the default power management settings that are provided with ENERGY STAR qualified computers and displays The default power management settings on ENERGY STAR qualified computers are preset to behave in the following ways when the system is operating on AC power e Turn off an external display after 15 minutes of user inactivity e Initiate a low power sleep mode for the computer after 30 minutes of user inactivity ENERGY STARQ qualified computers exit the low power sleep mode and ENERGY STAR qualified displays resume operation when the user resumes use of the computer Examples include the user pressing the power sleep button receiving an input signal from an input device receiving an input signal from a network connection with the Wake On LAN WOL feature enabled etc Additional information on the ENERGY STAR program its environmental benefits and the potential energy and financial savings of the power management feature can be found on the EPA ENERGY STAR Power Management Web site at http www energystar gov powermanagement 28 The Table of Toxic and Hazard

14. getting scratched defaced or broken Cleaning the Monitor The monitor is a high quality optical device that requires special care when cleaning To clean the monitor follow these steps 1 Turn off the computer and the monitor 2 Unplug your monitor from the wall outlet before cleaning cabinet These chemicals may damage the monitor Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners Never use CAUTION Do not use benzene thinner ammonia or any volatile substances to clean the monitor screen or water to clean an LCD screen 3 Wipe the screen with a dry soft clean cloth If the screen requires additional cleaning use an antistatic screen cleaner 4 Dust the monitor housing Use a damp cloth to clean the cabinet If the cabinet requires additional cleaning use a clean cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol 5 Plug in the monitor 6 Turn on the monitor and the computer Setup Base and Tilt Attaching the Base 1 Set the panel face down on a flat protected surface such as a table top 2 Using both hands align the base with the pedestal and push in firmly to lock in place Make sure that the base is securely locked in place before continuing with the setup procedure 1 CAUTION To prevent damage avoid applying pressure to the panel front Removing the Base 1 Set the panel face down on a flat protected surface 2 Squeeze the tabs in the bottom of the base to release the lock 3 Remove the base from the pedes

17. onitor No Plug amp Play e n order for the Plug amp Play feature of the monitor to work you need a Plug amp Play compatible computer and video card Check with your computer manufacturer e Check the monitor s video cable and make sure none of the pins are bent e Make sure the HP monitor drivers are installed HP monitor drivers are available at http www hp com support Picture is fuzzy and has ghosting e Adjust the contrast and brightness controls shadowing problem e Make sure you are not using an extension cable or switch box We recommend plugging the monitor directly into the video card output connector on the back of your computer e For VGA input the auto adjustment function may fix this problem Picture bounces flickers or wave e Move electrical devices that may cause electrical interference as far pattern is present in the picture away from the monitor as possible e Use the maximum refresh rate your monitor is capable of at the resolution you are using Monitor is stuck in Active Off Mode e The computer power switch should be in the on position e The computer video card should be snugly seated in its slot e Make sure the monitor s video cable is properly connected to the computer e nspect the monitor s video cable and make sure none of the pins are bent e Make sure your computer is operational by hitting the Caps Lock key on the keyboard while observing the Caps Lock LED The LED should either turn on
