12. o clean Step III Leave the separator to dry completely before replacing IMPORTANT The cyclonic separator should not be sub merged in water Step IV Replace the dirt container as direct ed by twisting lid to the locked pos tion NOTE This is located underneath the dirt container bin Step Release the pre motor filter cover by lifting up the tab Lift off the filter cover to gain access to the filter Remove the filter by pulling the tab towards you Step Il Separate the foam filter from the fab ric cassette Each filter can be tapped against the side of a trash can to remove the excess dirt and dust NOTE Do not use any detergents or boiling water to wash the filters For best perfor mance the foam filter should be cleaned each time the dirt container is emptied Step IV Once completely dry return the pre motor filter and cassette to the vacuum cleaner Replace the pre motor filter cover before restarting the vacuum cleaner Step III The pre motor filter may be rinsed in warm water Allow to air dry for 24 hours before replacing Cleaning the Exhaust Filter NOTE This is located on the rear of the vacuum cleaner Step Release the exhaust filter cover and remove the cover as shown Remove the filter by pulling the tab towards you Step Il Tap the pleated filter on the inside of a trash can to remove excess dust and dirt WARNIN
13. om Cleaning Tools The cleaning tools are conveniently stored underneath the hand grip The cleaning tools have many uses Select the tool best suited for the clean ing task from the following descrip tions Cord Rewind To rewind the pow er cord press the cord rewind pedal located on the top of the vacuum cleaner and guide the power cord with one hand This will prevent the cord from whipping which could cause damage or injury Select the proper tool H Crevice tool may be used in tight spaces corners and along edges in such places as dresser drawers upholstered furniture stairs and baseboards l Dusting Brush with swivel neck may be used for carved furniture table tops books lamps lighting fixtures venetian blinds baseboards shutters and registers May also be used for upholstered furniture draperies tapestries mattresses and clothing J Hard floor tool may be used for walls and very irregular hard surface floors such as brick and slate Attaching Tools Tools may be attached directly to the hand grip or to the wand Firmly push tool into the hand grip or wand Twist tool slightly to tighten or loosen connection Storage How to Clean Stairs Clean stairs from bottom to top NOTE Take extra care when vacuum ing stairs Do not store canister in ver tical position IMPORTANT Always unplug the vacuum cleaner from the electrical outlet and rewind the power
