NI Select TIMER from the MENU screen H Select the desired item AUTO OFF ALARM ON TIMER OFF TIMER using the La j cursor buttons TIMER AUTO OFF YES ALARM a ON TIMER OFF TIMER PRESS wa ANDO 9 Use the cursor buttons to toggle the AUTO OFF option between YES and NO Use 0 5 buttons to enter the time for ALARM ON TIMER and OFF TIMER To change timer setting simply re enter the 4 digits again EI Use gt cursor button to select the ON TIMER channel Set desired ON TIMER channel by pressing 4 cursor buttons K Press the MENU button until picture returns to normal NOTE O i ON timer is set the LED on the front of the TV set will blink 10 seconds on 1 second off The ON timer will only be effective if the power of the TV set is turned off using the remote control unit If the main power is turned off the power cord is disconnected or a power failure occurs the timer has to be set again The time entered for ALARM ON and OFF TIMER refers to the time from setting til activation and not the real time Setting of AUTO OFF When AUTO OFF is set to YES the power is automatically turned off about 10 minutes after broadcasting stops i e no signal is received TIMER S h k E Select TIMER from the MENU screen AUTO OFF YES Select AUTO OFF using the a y cursor buttons ALARM ON TIMER P1 Use

12. wa AND lt gt lt gt VHF L PRESS wa AND gt EI Search for the desired broadcast station using the cursor buttons When a channel is found the searching stops Note that the band can be changed by pressing cursor buttons H Check the picture and sound Depending on the broadcast system you may have to set the SOUND SYS and or the COLOR SYS If so press MENU H Select the SOUND SYS or COLOR SYS using the cursor buttons Then set it using the buttons button to return to previous screen al To set another channel change the position using the 9 3 or a v buttons Repeat step EX EI After completing the presetting press the MENU button until picture returns to normal cursor 13 Fine tuning f the signal is unsatisfactory you can fine tune the signal reception A Select SETUP from the MENU screen SETUP 1 AUTO MANUAL FINE PRESS va AND a Select FINE using the cursor buttons and press cursor buttons VHE L 1 TU ec PRESS lt gt Use cursor buttons to fine tune the signal until clear picture and sound is obtained EJ After completing the fine tuning press the MENU button until picture returns to normal Presetting using the front panel buttons fl Press the FUNCTION button once to display the main MENU HI Select SETUP menu by using TV VIDEO button Remote control button

FUNCTION eee nenea nenea name maneaua enma PICTURE ADJUSTMENT eee neam nenea nana nenea enma SOUND ADJUSTMENT nene nenea nenea neam ene nano TIMER FUNCTIONS Setting the timer Setting of AUTO OFF Checking the remaining time CONNECTIONS Connect the aerial using the aerial adaptor When using a coaxial cable to connect the aerial connect the coaxial cable to the aerial adaptor which comes together with the TV set NOTE When installing the coaxial cable clamp section A using pliers The aerial adaptor is designed for use exclusively with a 750hm coaxial cable It cannot be used with a 3000hm feeder wire For safety install an external aerial conforming to AS 1417 1 in Australia only Precautions when connecting the aerial Whenever possible use a coaxial cable which is not affected by interference to connect the aerial Avoid using a parallel feeder wire as interference may occur causing reception to be unstable and stripe noise to appear on the screen Avoid using indoor aerial as this may be affected by interference Keep the power cord and connection cords as far away from the aerial wire as possible Connection with other equipment Connect RF output terminais from either VTR or VDP to aerial input terminai Aerial terminal E ae VTR with tuner Video Audio output On gt ADU pl aren C2057FN E N

NU button twice to return to normal picture BLUE BACK function This TV set has a BLUE BACK function which when set to YES will make the background blue and mask picture noise NI Select FUNCTION from the MENU screen Choose BLUE BACK by pressing a v cursor buttons and then press a cursor buttons to toggle between YES and NO Once the required BLUE BACK mode is selected press MENU button twice to return to normal picture AVL function AVL Auto Volume Levelling function when set to YES automatically adjusts the sound level output at the speakers to an optimum value when broadcast signals fluctuate in strength EI Select FUNCTION from the MENU screen Choose AVL by pressing cursor buttons and then press lt gt cursor buttons to toggle between YES and NO Once the required AVL mode is selected press MENU button twice to return to normal picture NOTE if AVL is on maximum sound level is reduced AVL operation can not operate in video mode 20 PICTURE ADJUSTMENT The contrast brightness color level sharpness and tint can be adjusted Note that tint adjustment is only available in the NTSC mode Ml Select PICTURE from the MENU screen E Select the desired item contrast brightness color level sharpness or tint using the a v cursor buttons and press the a buttons PICTURE 1 MODE 1 a MODE 1 MODE 2 O HHMI 4

17. e up down buttons Volume up Volume down Surround Menu Timer Picture Cursor A 4 gt TURNING THE PO To turn the power ON Press the power switch on the TV set When TV set is ON LED turns OFF TV VIDEO a FUNCTION Y PROG A Ca C O 0 ON TIMER Power switch When the stand by indicator is on You can turn the TV set on or to STANDBY using the button on the remote control unit The picture usually takes a few seconds before appearing You can also use the PROG a PROG Y of the TV set to turn it on At standby mode the LED is ON To turn the power OFF Press the power switch on the TV set The power indicator will be turned off You cannot turn off the power by using the remote control unit Caution i you are not going to use this set for a long time turn the set off using the power switch on the TV set and disconnect the power plug from the power outlet i NGUAGE SELECTION The language display can be selected among English Chinese Malay or Russian by using the front panel buttons Before selection please make sure the power switch is at OFF position Turn the power on Press the FUNCTION button to display the LANGUAGE mode Use the TV VIDEO button to select the required language EES amp Press the FUNCTION button to return to the normal picture mode bk LANGUAGE ENGLISH PX MELAYU PYCCKUM

21. tion 8 No colour picture obtainable during a colour programme Check that the System switch is set to the correct position Adjust the Fine tuning button slightly Adjust the colour control 9 VTA When the VTR test signal TSG 1s received the lower side of the test pattern is distorted as shown in the figure This is not a maltunction and the playback picture is not intluenced by it NOTICE IE When the power of the set is turned off a white flash may occur in the CPT screen This is not a problem and is done to improve the retiability of the CPT When the TV set is moved from place to place or overseas the colour shading may occur under earth magnetism At that time please contact your nearest service shop
