Vise Determine the position of the Vise that will give you the safest and best access to the material clamped in the SLIDE 24 Step 1 To adjust the longitudinal fore aft axis of the Vise locate the LEAD SCREW 8 and HANDLE 1 Step 2 Turn the HANDLE 1 counterclockwise to move the MID BASE 18 and UPPER BASE 20 further towards the rear of the BASE 9 as shown in Figure 5 Upper Base 20 w Lead screw 12 and 9 H ty Figure 5 Moving Mid Base and Upper Base Step 3 Turn the HANDLE 1 clockwise to move the MID and UPPER BASE 18 amp 20 closer to the HANDLE 1 Position for best access Step 4 To adjust the cross travel side to side axis of the Vise locate the LEAD SCREW 12 and HANDLE 1 Page 8 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 SKU 32997 Step 5 Turn the HANDLE 1 clockwise to move the UPPER BASE 20 to the left as shown in Figure 6 Upper Base 20 Figure 6 Moving Upper Base to the Left Step 6 Turn the HANDLE 1 counterclockwise to move the UPPER BASE 20 to the right Position for best access SKU 32997 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 9 Locking the Vise Your Vise BASES can be locked into position to prevent accidental movement You will need a 10mm end wrench and a Phillips screwdriver for this operation Step 1 Select which BASE 9 you want you lock into position Step 2 Loosen the two NUTS 16 as shown

7. p with the mounting bolts as shown in Figure 2 S I P D ef a N nnise Figure 2 Attaching Base to Table Step 5 Thread nuts on the mounting bolts and tighten by hand Step 6 Position the Vise a final time Tighten the mounting nuts firmly SKU 32997 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 5 OPERATION Clamping Center the Vise before clamping anything This will allow maximum adjustment flexibility in every direction To open the Jaws of the Vise open the SLIDE 24 by turning Step 2 the LEAD SCREW 21 as shown in Figure 3 Lead Screw re 21 Step 1 L00se Figure 3 Opening Jaws SKU 32997 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 6 Step 3 Insert the material to be clamped If the material is small place it over one of the runners of the UPPER BASE 20 as shown in Figure 4 This will keep the material from falling below into the Vise Upper Base 20 Figure 4 Placing Small Material Step 4 Begin to close the SLIDE 24 by turning the LEAD SCREW 21 This will tighten the Jaws of the Vise Step 5 When the SLIDE 24 touches the material you are working on tighten the SLIDE 24 only enough to ensure clamping DO NOT CRUSH the material you are working on CAUTION Do Not Over Tighten the Vise You Will Damage Your Material SKU 32997 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 7 Cross Sliding the
8. rmine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs If there is any doubt do not operate machine UNPACKING If any parts are missing or broken please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the cover of this manual REF ITEM DESCRIPTION N A Cross Slide Vise SKU 32997 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 Page 3 ASSEMBLY Your Vise comes partially assembled To complete assembly you will need a 14mm wrench Step 1 Place the Vise on a clear area of your workbench Step 2 Slide a HANDLE 1 onto the LEAD SCREW 8 rotating the HANDLE 1 until it fits onto the square end of the LEAD SCREW 12 as shown in Figure 1 Vise Assembly Figure 1 Handle Assembly Step 3 Attach a NUT 2 and tighten with a 14mm wrench Step 4 Locate the other HANDLE 1 and slide it onto the LEAD SCREW 12 Step 5 Attach a NUT 2 and tighten with a 14mm wrench Page 4 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 SKU 32997 Attaching the Vise to a T Slot Table Step 1 You will need additional hardware sold separately to complete installation Step 2 Place the assembled Vise onto the T Slot Table Select the appropriate rows in the T Slot Table which line up with the Mounting Tabs on the BASE 9 Step 3 Insert 2 to 6 T Slot mounting bolts into the T Slot Table rails Step 4 Place the Vise on the T Slot Table in the position you want Make sure the mounting tabs on the BASE 9 line u
