7. e Do not heat unopened food containers buildup of pressure may cause container to burst and result Ininjury 1 IMPORTANT Do not attempt to operate the range during a power failure If the power fails always turn off the range If the range is not turned off and the power resumes the range will begin to operate again Once the power resumes reset the clock and oven function IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING YOUR OVEN e Use care when opening oven door lower oven door or warmer drawer if equipped Stand to the side of the range when opening the door of a hot oven Let hot air or steam escape before you remove or replace food in the oven e Keep oven vent ducts unobstructed The oven vent is located under the left rear surface element if your model is equipped with coil elements The oven vent is located below the backguard for models equipped with ceramic glass cook tops Touching the surfaces in this area when the oven is operating may cause severe burns Also do not place plastic or heat sensitive items on or near the oven vent These items could melt or ignite Placement of interior oven racks Always place oven racks in desired location while oven is cool If rack must be moved while oven is hot use extreme caution Use potholders and grasp the rack with both hands to reposition Do not let potholders contact the hot heating elements in the oven Remove all utensils from the rack before moving e Do not use the broil

11. will stop rotating until the oven door is closed Speed bake will not operate when clean is active Cook time reductions may vary depending on the amount and type of food being cooked Set the oven temperature between 300 F 149 C to 550 F 288 C If speed bake is active and the oven temperature lowers below 300 F 149 C the convection fan and indicator light will turn off but the oven will continue to bake at the lower oven temperature Setting broil Use the broil feature to cook meats that require direct exposure to radiant heat for optimum browing results When broiling always remember to arrange the oven racks while oven is still cool Position the rack as suggested in the broil settings table See Figs 1 amp 4 To set Broil 1 Arrange the oven rack while oven is still cool 2 Press broil will appear in display 3 Pressandholdthe A or Y until the desired broil setting level appears in the display Press the A for HI broil or the Y for LO broil Most foods may be broiled at the HI broil setting Select the LO broil setting to avoid excess browning or drying of foods that should be cooked to the well done stage 4 Foroptimum results preheat oven for 5 minutes before adding food 5 Place the insert on broil pan if equipped then place food on broil pan insert if equipped See Fig 2 6 Place broiler pan and insert on oven rack 7 Keep the oven door open to the broil stop position when

LS Oven vent location The oven vent is located under the left side of the control panel See Fig 1 When the oven is on warm air passes through this vent This venting is necessary for proper air circulation in the oven and good baking results Steam or moisture may appear near the oven vent this is normal Do not block the oven vent oven vent location Fig 1 Removing replacing amp arranging racks To remove pull the rack forward until it stops Lift up front of rack and slide out To replace fit the rack onto the guides on the oven walls Tilt the front of the rack upward and slide the rack back into place Arranging always arrange the oven racks when the oven is cool prior to operating the oven CAUTION Always use oven mitts when using the oven When using the appliance oven racks and cooktop will become very hot which can cause burns IMPORTANT REMOVE ALL OVEN RACKS and accessories before starting a self clean cycle If the oven racks are left in the oven during the self clean cycle the oven racks to loose their shiny finish Remove ALL oven racks and clean according to instructions provided in the Care amp Cleaning section of this manual 12 Types of oven racks Your range may be equipped with one or more of the oven rack styles shown flat handle oven rack bottom oven rack The flat oven rack or flat handle oven rack some models may be used for

Use soap amp water to thoroughly clean the top sides and front of the oven door Rinse well You may use a glass cleaner on the outside glass of the oven door Do not immerse the door in water Do not spray or allow water or the glass cleaner to enter the door vents Do not use oven cleaners cleaning powders or any harsh abrasive cleaning materials on the outside of the oven door Do not clean the oven door gasket On self cleaning models the oven door gasket is made of a woven material which is essential for a good seal Care should be taken not to rub damage or remove this gasket See Cooktop Cleaning and Maintenance in the Care amp Cleaning section 23 CARE amp CLEANING Cooktop maintenance 2 IMPORTANT Consistent and proper cleaning is essential to maintaining your ceramicglass cooktop Prior to using your cooktop for the first time apply some of the glass ceramic cooktop cleaner supplied with your new appliance Buff with a non abrasive cloth or no scratch cleaning pad This will make cleaning easier when soiled from cooking The special cooktop cleaning cream leaves a protective finish on the glass to help prevent scratches and abrasions Sliding aluminum or copper clad bottom pans on the cooktop can cause metal markings on the cooktop surface These marks should be removed immediately after the cooktop has cooled using the cooktop cleaning cream Metal marks can become permanent if not removed prior to future use Coo
20. adjust power level setting 2 BEFORE YOU CALL Solutions to common problems Problem Flames inside oven or smoking from oven vent Oven smokes excessively when broiling Convection does not work some models Convection fan does not rotate some models Self cleaning cycle does not work Soil not completely removed after running a self cleaning cycle Oven light does not work 28 Solution Excessive spillovers in oven For example this will happen for pie spillovers or large amounts of grease left on the oven bottom Wipe up excessive spillovers before starting oven If flames or excessive smoke are present see Broiling in the Setting Oven Controls section for additional recommendations Incorrect setting or food preparation Follow broiling instructions in Setting Oven Controls section Make sure oven door is open to broil stop position Food positioned too close to upper element Reposition the food item lower if necessary to provide proper clearance between the food amp the broil element Try preheating the oven before boiling Food not properly prepared Remove excess fat from meat Cut remaining fatty edges to prevent curling Broil pan and insert some models wrong side up and grease not draining Always place insert on top of broil pan with ribs up amp slots down to allow excess grease to drip into broil pan Do not use aluminum foil Aluminum foil will trap grease expose grease to hig
21. avoid damaging the glide ability of the rack Remove ALL items from the oven and cooktop including cookware utensils and ANY ALUMINUM FOIL Aluminum foil will not withstand high temperatures from a self clean cycle e DO NOT line the oven walls racks bottom or any other part of the range with aluminum foil Doing so will destroy heat distribution produce poor baking results and may cause permanent damage to the oven interior During self clean temperatures in the oven can become hot enough to melt aluminum foil e DO NOT use or spray oven cleaners or oven protective coatings in or around any part of the oven interior Clean any soil from the outer oven frame the door liner outside the oven door gasket and the small area at the front center of the oven bottom These areas See Fig 1 heat sufficiently to burn soil on Clean using soap and water before starting self clean e Remove any excessive spillovers Any spills on the oven bottom should be wiped up and removed before starting self clean To clean use hot soapy water and a cloth Large spillovers can cause heavy smoke or fire when subjected to high temperatures DO NOT allow food spills with a high sugar or acid content such as milk tomatoes sauerkraut fruit juices or pie filling to remain on the surface as they may leave a dull spot even after cleaning DO NOT clean the oven door gasket See Fig 1 The woven material of the oven door gasket is essential for a goo
