3. heard To make optimal use of the operating range place your home base station centrally Batteries The cordless phone runs on three rechargeable batteries You can fully charge flat batteries by placing the cordless phone in the home base station for 2 5 hours Fully charged batteries give you 12 hours of calling time or 110 hours of stand by time The cordless phone displays a battery meter which shows the power remaining in the batteries The cordless phone runs on Nickel Metal Hydride NiMH batteries They can be recharged at any time Additionally they are less damaging to the environment than other batteries Reading the battery meter When the batteries are fully charged the battery meter on the cordless phone display consists of four blocks The number of blocks decreases as the batteries discharge Ifthe batteries are almost flat the battery meter and the ted light on the cordless phone flash An alarm sounds if theres less than 15 minutes calling time left in the batteries Charging the batteries Place the cordless phone in the home base station with the aerial upwards If the home base station green light ison or flashes and the battery meter on the display flashes the batteries are being charged As soon as the batteries are fully charged the greemlight goes out and the battery meter on the cordless phone stops flashing Changing the batteries Rechargeable batteries have a limited life span Under

If the home base station is connected to a switchboard you can use its functions in the same way as with a conventional fixed telephone The only difference is the absence of a telephone cable One example of this type of function is transferring calls Telephoning using a switchboard When you usea switchboard it is sometimes necessary to wait for the dial tone before dialling a number If the whole number is to be entered and displayed prior to dialling for example a stored number then you must indicate where in the number the cordless phone should wait for the dial tone To include a pause to wait for the dial tone ina number press then 2 The cordless phone will display a dash at the location of the pause If there is a dash ina number the cordless phone waits for a while for the dial tone If you hear the dial tone while the cordless phone is still waiting you can always press On to continue dialling Setting signalling method If you use a switchboard the home base station transmits signals to the switchboard when you press the R key Switchboards use either earth or hook flash as a signalling method You will find details of which one is used in the switchboard documentation You must set the home base Station to the appropriate signalling method for the switchboard Earth signalling can only be used with a suitable switchboard Set the signalling method for the switehboard as follows 1 Press and then press

18. e home base stations By using multiple home base stations you can extend the coverage area for your cordless phone Multiple home base stations on one telephone line To be able to use the cordless phone in a larger area you connect two or more home base stations to the same telephone line The number of home base stations you can connect to one telephone line depends on local conditions You need to subscribe the cordless phone to the various home base stations The cordless phone can have different internal numbers 1 8 on the various home base stations Multiple home base stations on multiple telephone lines You can also use the cordless phone with multiple home base stations in various places connected to different telephone lines In that case the cordless phone can have different internal and external numbers at different times Connecting to a home base station To be able to use a certain home base station the cordless phone must be subscribed to that home base station and be connected to it A cordless phone can be subscribed to multiple home base stations but can only be connected to one home base station at a time You can select a home base station in two ways from a list of home base stations in the cordless phone e To which you are subscribed Or e To which you are subscribed and within range Selecting a home base station A subscribed home base station can be selected from a list held within the cord

20. econds Why Put the cordless phone in the home base station If the display comes on the batteries are almost discharged Leave the cordless phone in the home base station for at least 30 minutes so that the batteries are charged If the display remains off after charging the cordless phone is defective or the batteries may need replacing See Batteries under Quick start have placed the cordless phone in the home base station but the green charging light does not come on Why Check if the cordless phone placed properly inthe home base station If the batteries are completely flat leave the cordless phone in the home base station to charge the batteries the green charging light will be lit after approximately 30 minutes Reference know that someone is calling me but the ring signal is not ringing Why not If you can see the ring off icon displayed it means that the volume of the ring signal has been set to zero or the ring signal was switched off If the ring signal has been switched off it will revert to on when you hang up Press the Up or Down key to increase the volume of the signal See Silencing the ringer and Adjusting the ring volume under Settings Lcan t call certain numbers Why not The lock icon is flashing quickly on the display Call barring is on See Call barring under Settings The external line light on the home base station is flashing Why There is a problem
