4. 8 batteries at the same time Do not mix old and new batteries together Do not mix different types of batteries such as alkaline batteries and normal batteries in the battery compartment If the unit will not be used for an extended period of time such as two weeks or more or if the unit will be used mainly on AC power remove the batteries from the battery compartment If weak or dead batteries are left in the battery compartment they may eventually leak causing possible corrosion damage to the unit and such damage is not covered by your warranty SB250A_011205 p65 6 12 1 2005 17 25 BATTERY PRECAUTIONS Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device Use only the size and type of batteries specified Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in the battery compartment Reversed batteries may cause damage to the device Do not mix different types of batteries together e g Alkaline and Carbon Zinc or old batteries with fresh ones If the device is not to be used for a long period of time remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged they can overheat and rupture Follow battery manufacturer s directions PROTECT YOUR FURNITURE This model is equipped with non skid rubber feet to prevent the product from moving when you operate t

NOTE This unit has a polarized AC plug with one wide blade and one narrow blade This plug will only fit into a matching polarized AC outlet This is a safety feature to reduce the possibility of electric shock If this plug will not fit in your AC outlet you probably have an outdated non polarized R outlet You should have your outdated outlet changed by a qualified licensed electrician Do a not file the wide blade on the plug or use an adapter to make the plug fit into your outlet AC Outlet This defeats the safety feature and could AC Plug expose you to electric shock Note In order to operate the unit on batteries the AC power cord must be completely disconnected from the AC socket on the back cabinet SB250A_011205 p65 5 12 1 2005 17 25 iin Battery Operation 1 Turn the unit upside down The battery compartment is located on the bottom cabinet 2 Press downward on the battery door locking tabs and remove the battery door Locking Tabs 3 Insert 8 fresh C batteries not included in the battery compartment We recommend alkaline batteries for longest life and best performance Be sure to observe the battery polarity markings engraved in the battery compartment If the batteries are inserted incorrectly the unit will not work 4 Replace the battery door When the sound becomes weak or distorted it is time to change the batteries Always change all
6. of tracks on the disc To stop playback before the disc ends press the STOP W button at any time The disc stops and the display again shows the total tracks on the disc If you are finished listening remove your disc from the player and close the CD door Slide the POWER OFF CD RADIO selector switch back to the POWER OFF position The POWER indicator goes off Pause Control To pause momentarily during CD playback press the PLAY PAUSE Pll button The sound stops and the track number display flashes but the disc continues to spin again Press the PLAY PAUSE Pll button again to cancel the Pause mode and resume normal playback The sound resumes at the same point on the disc and the track number display stops flashing SB250A_011205 p65 13 12 1 2005 17 25 O aa SKIP Search Controls i K4 During playback press the FWD SKIP gt gt I or REV SKIP I lt buttons repeatedly to skip forward or back to higher or lower numbered tracks Playback will start at the beginning of the selected track e To search within a track for a specific musical passage depress and hold the gt gt l or I lt buttons The player will search rapidly forward or backward as long as the buttons are depressed When you hear the desired passage release the buttons and normal playback will resume at that point e To start playback from a specific track load your disc as usual and wait until the display show
7. or the song title 1 Load your disc as usual and wait until the display shows the total number of tracks 2 Press the INTRO button The Intro Indicator appears on the display The player will begin playing track 01 After 10 seconds the player skips to track 02 and so on until it has played the first 10 seconds of each track on the disc 3 When you hear the desired song press the INTRO button again to cancel the Intro Scan playback mode and resume normal playback 12 1 2005 17 25 O aa SB250A_011205 p65 16 Programmed Playback Use the Programmed Playback feature to play up to 32 tracks on a disc in any desired order You may also program a particular track to play several times within a programmed sequence if desired Notes You cannot program a disc while it is playing Press the STOP button to stop playback and then follow the programming steps below 1 A o _ Load your disc as usual and wait until the display shows the total number of tracks on the disc Press the PROGRAM button on the front panel The PROG indicator begins flashing and Program Memory number 01 appears in the display Press the gt gt I or I buttons to select the first track number to be programmed Example Track number 07 When the desired track number is flashing in the display press the PROGRAM button again Track 07 is now entered in Program Memory number 01

9. aranteed This is not an indication of a problem with the player 1 Slide the POWER OFF CD RADIO selector switch on the top cabinet to the CD position The Power indicator will light NIZ N N The display will show two flashing dashes in the track number display After a few seconds the track number display will show no indicating that there is no disc in the player Press on the indented area of the CD door to open it The OP indicator appears in the display If you have not already ni i done so before loading your own disc be sure to remove LI the dummy CD transit card from the player and discard it NIZ JIN ao A Place your disc on the center spindle with the printed label side facing up Make sure that the disc is properly centered on the spindle Close the CD door The disc will spin for a few seconds while the player reads the TOC Table of Contents on the disc Then the disc will stop spinning and the display will show the total number of tracks on the disc o _ SB250A_011205 p65 12 12 1 2005 17 25 O aa 6 Press the PLAY PAUSE Pll button Playback begins on track 01 and the Play indicator appears in the display Adjust the VOLUME and BASS BOOST controls as desired Playback will continue until the last track has played then the disc stops the Play indicator disappears and the display again shows the total number
