7. ntee period If you experience a problem with your product you should contact the Helpline on 08457 908070 Calls are charged at local call rates If the problem is not remedied you will be advised to return your product to the helpline Outside the 12 month guarantee period If your product needs repair after the guarantee period has ended the repair must meet the approval requirements for connection to the telephone network We recommend that you call the Helpline on 08457 908070 and ask for details of our recommended repair agents 9 Verve 100 Edition 5 18 8 00 3250 If you have to return your product Pack the base station and handset securely preferably in the original packing All parts must be returned including line cords power supply unit and original batteries We cannot take responsibility for goods damaged in transit Technical information How many handsets can you have All items of telephone equipment have a Ringer Equivalence Number REN which is used to calculate the number of items that may be connected to any one telephone line The Verve 100 has a total REN of 1 Any other instrument provided by BT may be assumed to have a REN of 1 unless stated otherwise A total REN of 4 is allowed per telephone line For example if the Verve 100 is used in conjunction with three extension telephones each with a REN of 1 then the total REN 4 R amp TTE This product complies with the R amp TTE Directi

9. on 5 18 8 00 3250 2 Plug the power adaptor into a mains power socket and switch on Install the rechargeable battery pack in the handset Insert the battery connector as shown in the diagram Place the battery pack in the battery compartment and insert the battery cable in the clip provided Put the battery compartment cover back into place and click shut To open the battery cover Push tab downwards and pull The cover clicks off 4 Charge the handset batteries for at least 16 hours Place the handset on the base and charge for at least 16 hours without interruption WARNING Do not connect the telephone line cord to the phone socket until the handset is fully charged This will prevent the risk of the phone being answered before the battery is charged Battery performance After charging your Verve 100 for the first time subsequent charging time is approximately 4 5 hours Batteries and case may become warm during charging This is normal and is not dangerous Verve 100 Edition 5 18 8 00 3250 Note Under ideal conditions the handset should give about 10 hours talktime or 100 hours standby on a single charge However new NiCad batteries do not reach their full capacity until they have been in normal use for several days Please note that the lifespan of NiCad rechargeable batteries depends on how heavily they are used However over time their capacity to recharge will begin t
