2. symbol now changes to indicate a multiple disc changer source as opposed to the CD player single CD symbol Disc play will then begin If a new magazine has been loaded into the changer play will begin from the first track of the first disc in the magazine If magazine was already in the changer play will resume from the track on the disc previously in play When the MODE button is pressed again operation reverts to the CD player from the first track on disc 69 DISC SELECT DISC DISC During changer operation disc select is accomplished by pressing the DISC or DISC button Each time the button is pressed play advances to the next higher or lower disc and the disc number 01 etc is displayed on the front panel In this manner the desired disc can be quickly accessed TRACK SELECT 44 gt gt The Track Select functions are used to quickly access the beginning of a particular track Each time the Forward Track Select gt side of the button is pressed the next higher track number will be selected as shown on the display panel Similarly each time the Backward Track Select 44 side of the button is pressed the next lower track number will be selected as shown on the display panel 8 CUE REVIEW FUNCTIONS lt lt p gt High speed audible search to any section of the disc can be made by the Cue and Review functions Press and hold the Cue side of the button to advance rapidly in the
3. broadcast Repeat step 1 except set the desired bass BAS level for the current broadcast and set this level using the VOL buttons While BAS is displayed press and hold the P1 button until P_1 appears to the left of the BAS display The bass level is now pre set for the current type of broadcast Repeat step 1 except set the desired balance BAL between the left and right speakers for the current broadcast and set this level using the VOL buttons While BAL is displayed press and hold the P1 button until P_1 appears to the left of the BAL display The speaker balance is now pre set for the current type of broadcast 6 Repeat step 1 except set the desired fade FAD ratio between the front and rear speakers for the current broadcast and set this level using the VOL buttons While FAD is displayed press and hold the P1 button until P_1 appears to the left of the FAD display The speaker fade ratio is now pre set for the current type of broadcast This procedure can be repeated for other types of broadcast content using the P2 and P3 buttons in the same manner as described LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY PANEL The Liquid Crystal Display LCD panel displays the frequency time and activated functions NOTE It is a characteristic of LCD panels that if subjected to cold temperatures for an extended period of time they may take longer to illuminate than under normal conditions In addition the visibility of
4. the numbers on the LCD may slightly decrease The LCD read out will return to normal when the temperature increases to a normal range 17 MODE SELECTION The MODE button provides selection of the Compact Disc source CD Player or CD Changer When no CD Changer is connected and a disc is loaded into the integral CD Player the disc begins playing If the MODE switch is pressed no change will occur However when a CD Changer is connected pressing the MODE switch causes the CD changer to begin playing Subsequent MODE switch activation from this point results in switching 272 between the CD Player and the Changer To return to radio operation press the BAND switch DISC SLOT Gently insert the disc into the front panel slot label surface facing up until the soft loading mechanism engages and pulls the disc in The LOAD indication will momentarily appear on the display The indication illuminates and becomes animated and the track number 01 and CD Compact Disc appears on the display panel CAUTION This unit is designed for play of standard 5 12cm compact discs ONLY Do not attempt to use 3 8cm CD Singles in this unit either with or without an adapter as damage to the player and or disc can occur Such damage will not be covered by the Warranty on this product TRACK SELECT 44 gt gt During disc play the Track Select functions are performed by the TUN TRK SEK button track select is used to quick

G lt lt gt gt To manually select a radio station momematrily press the Up Tuning gt side of the button to advance the unit two digits higher or the Down Tuning lt lt side of the button to tune two digits lower Pressing either side of the button for longer than 0 5 second and then releasing will activate the Automatic Seek Tuning function The radio will seek the next station in the selected direction and stop and remain at that frequency Pressing and holding either side of the button for longer than 0 5 second will cause the radio to continue tuning rapidly in the selected direction until the desired station is reached Tuning in the same direction will continue unless the button is released at the desired station Pressing either side of the button during disc play permits rapid selection of a desired track on the disc in the respective direction 01 MUTE M SELECTION Press the M MUTE button momentarily to mute the volume from the system MUTE will appear on the display panel Pressing the button again or selecting another function will return to the volume level setting in use before the MUTE function was activated 2 MONO STEREO SELECTION During FM radio operation when the signal is broadcast in stereo the stereo mode is indicated by the icon on the display panel If the stereo signal is too noisy for comfortable listening or if the FM signal is broadcast in monaural instead of stereo the indi

ODE button To return to disc player operation press the MODE button again to pause disc player operation press the PAUSE button the gt symbol will flash on the display To return to disc play press the PAUSE button again To return to radio operation press the BAND button 62 TRACK SCAN SELECTOR SCAN During disc player operation press this button to play the first 10 seconds of each track on the disc SCAN will appear on the display panel When a desired track is reached press the SCAN button again to cancel the function SCAN will disappear from the display panel and play of the selected track will continue Scan mode will also be canceled by activating the Repeat Play Shuffle Random Play or track select functions 63 PLAY SELECTOR During disc player operation press this button to repeat the play of the selected track REPEAT will appear on the display panel Play of the track will continue to repeat until the button is pressed again and the REPEAT indication disappears from the display panel Repeat Play mode will also be canceled by activating the Track Scan or Shuffle Play functions 64 RANDOM PLAY SELECTOR SHUFFLE During disc player operation press this button to play the tracks on the disc in a random shuffled order SHUFFLE will appear on the display panel In Random Play mode the Track Select function will also select tracks in the random order instead ofthe normal progressio

R 15 full rear to F 15 full front When the level between the front and rear speakers is equal 0 will be shown on the display panel The display will automatically return to the normal indication 5 seconds after the last adjustment or when another function is activated LOUDNESS CONTOUR LOUD When listening to music at low volume levels this feature will boost the bass and treble ranges to compensate for the characteristics of human hearing Press the LOUD button momentarily to activate this feature and the indication LOUD will appear on the display panel Pressing the button again momentarily will deactivate the feature the LOUD indication will disappear from the display panel 9 AM FM BAND SELECTOR BAND During radio operation each time this button is pressed the radio band is changed The indication AM 1 AM 2 FM 1 FM 2 or FM 3 will appear on the display panel according to your selection During disc play pressing this button will stop play of the disc and switch to radio operation The disc will remain in the machine without being ejected During this time the icon will remain lit on the display panel to show that a disc is still loaded in the unit Press the MODE button to return to disc play from the beginning of the last track in play When FM reception is weak and or 1 or AM 2 is selected the stereo indication will disappear from the display MANUAL UP DOWN TUNING TRACK SELECT AND AUTOMATIC SEEK TUNIN
9. ate properly in extreme hot or cold In case of such conditions wait until the interior temperature of the vehicle reaches a normal temperature before using the player f the temperature inside the player gets too hot a protective circuit will automatically stop play of the disc In this case allow the unit to cool off before operating the player again Never insert anything other than a 5 12 cm compact disc into the player as the mechanism can be damaged by foreign objects Do not attempt to use 3 8 cm CD Single discs in this unit either with or without an adaptor as damage to the player and or disc may occur Such damage will not be covered by the Warranty on this product When not using the disc player always remove the compact disc Do not leave an ejected disc sitting in the disc slot as this can expose it to sunlight and other causes of damage Do not attempt to open the unit chassis There are no user serviceable parts or adjustments inside When the vehicle warms up during cold weather or under damp conditions moisture may condense on the lens of the disc player Should this occur the player will not operate properly until the moisture has evaporated The unit is designed with a vibration dampening CD mechanism to minimize interruption of disc play due to normal vibration in a moving vehicle When driving on very rough roads however occasional sound skips may occur This will not scratch or dama
10. buttons Pressing the button will select volume adjustment VOL treble adjustment TRE will appear on the display bass adjustment BAS on the display panel balance BAL or fader FAD The display will automatically return to the normal indication 5 seconds after the last adjustment or when another function is activated The audio function last selected will have priority and will appear whenever the S button is pressed at a later time Pressing and holding this button enables disables the beep tone function When the function is enabled the e1 icon will appear on the display Each time a front panel key is pressed a beep tone will sound 4 TREBLE CONTROL To adjust the treble level first select the Treble mode by pressing the button 3 so the TRE indication appears on the display panel Within 5 seconds of choosing the Treble mode press the VOL button to decrease the treble response or the VOL button to increase it as desired The level will be shown on the display panel from a minimum 7 to a maximum of 7 0 indicates flat response The display will automatically return to the normal indication 5 seconds after the last adjustment or when another function is activated 5 BASS CONTROL To adjust the bass level first select the Bass mode by pressing the button 3 so the BAS indication appears on the display panel Within 5 seconds of choosing the Bass mode press the VOL button to decrease the bass
11. cation disappears from the display When a station on either AM band is selected no stereo indication is present on the display 03 PRE SET SCAN PS AUTO STORE TUNING AS Press this button momentarily to scan the stations pre set into each AM band and each FM band The unit will stop at each pre set station for approximately 8 seconds before continuing to the next pre set station the pre set station number on the display panel will flash during Pre Set Scan operation Press the button again momentarily to stop Pre Set Scan operation and remain on the selected frequency If no buttons are pressed during the scan the unit will return to the original station before the scan was started Pressing and holding the button for longer than 2 seconds will activate the Auto Store AST Tuning feature which will automatically scan and enter up to 6 local area stations into the pre set memories the band in use If you have already set the pre set memories to your favorite stations activating the Auto Store Tuning feature will erase those stations and enter the new local ones This feature is most useful when traveling in a new area where you are not familiar with the local stations STATION PRE SET MEMORIES To set any of the 6 pre set memories in each band use the following procedure 1 Turn the radio on and select the desired band 2 Select the first station to be pre set using the TUN TRK SEK or Auto Store AS Controls Press th
12. e ignition and radio on 2 Press and release the Time Frequency T F button to access the time display the clock icon appears Then press and hold the T F button until the display begins to flash 3 With the time display flashing press the Down Tuning lt lt button to adjust the hours indication or the Up Tuning gt gt button to adjust the minutes indication to the correct time 4 Five seconds after the last hour or minute adjustment is made the time will be set into the unit and the time indication remains steady To return to the frequnecy display press the T F button again 10 CD CHANGER CONTROLS Built into this radio are controls to operate an optional CD changer Please check with your Prestige Audiovox car stereo specialist or call 1 800 645 4994 for recommendations of the models that will work with this radio Adjustment of the audio functions volume tone balance and fader for the CD changer operate in the same manner as they do for radio play The following controls will operate the CD changer when it is installed and connected to this radio Refer to the owner s manual included with the CD changer for instructions on the installation and correct loading and use of the CD magazine 09 CD CHANGER SELECTION During CD play press the MODE button to select operation of the CD changer as shown by the CDC display followed by the track indication T 01 etc and DISC number 01 etc Note that the
13. e pre set button to be set and continue to hold it in for approximately 2 seconds The pre set number CH 1 6 will appear on the display panel indicating that the station is now set into that pre set memory position The station can now be recalled at any time by pressing that button Repeat the above procedure for the remaining 5 pre sets on that band and for the other 4 bands on the unit 3 5 PROGRAM 1 3 P1 SELECTION Rather than provide a fixed equalization factor for each type of 6 broadcast Pop Classical or Rock being listened to a personalized equalization factor can be programmed for particular listening preferences For example P1 can be used for popular program selections while P2 or P3 can be used for classical or rock program selections To program an equalization factor using P1 proceed as follows 1 Using the SEL S button select the volume display VOL and set the sound to the desired level using the VOL buttons Next while VOL is still displayed press and hold the P1 button until P_1 appears to the left of the VOL display The volume level is now pre set for the current type of broadcast Repeat step 1 except select the desired treble TRE level for the current broadcast and set this level using the VOL buttons While TRE is displayed press and hold the P1 button until P_1 appears to the left of the TRE display The treble level is now pre set for the current type of
14. forward direction the disc play symbol will quickly rotate forward on the display panel or the Review 4 side of the button to advance rapidly in the backward direction the disc symbol will quickly rotate backwards on the display panel 62 TRACK DISC SCAN SELECTOR SCAN When the SCAN button is pressed the SCAN indication will appear on the display panel and the first 10 seconds of each track on the disc will be played in order The scan function will continue in this manner until a desired track is reached or the scan function is halted by pressing the SCAN button again play of the selected track will continue and SCAN will disappear from the display panel The Track Scan mode will also be canceled by activating the Repeat Play Shuffle Play or Track Select functions 11 63 DISC TRACK REPEAT PLAY REPEAT When the REPEAT button is pressed the REPEAT indication will appear on the display panel and play of the selected track will be continually repeated until the Track Repeat mode is canceled by pressing the REPEAT button again or by activating the Scan or Random Play functions DISC TRACK RANDOM PLAY SHUFFLE When the SHUFFLE button is pressed the SHUFFLE indication will appear on the display panel and the tracks on the disc will be played in a random shuffled order The Track Select button will also select tracks in the shuffled order instead of the normal progression The Shuffle Track mode can be canceled by pressi
15. ge the disc and normal play will resume when the rough conditions cease As with any compact disc player the compact disc section of this sound system does require a minimum of maintenance to keep it in good working condition The following simple care and maintenance suggestions should be followed to prevent malfunctions of the compact disc system Handling Compact Discs Dirt dust scratches and warpage can cause skips in the playback and deterioration of sound quality Please follow these guidelines to take care of your compact discs COMPACT Use only compact discs with the mark Fingerprints dust and dirt should be carefully wiped off the disc s playing surface shiny side with a soft cloth Wipe in a straight motion from the inside to the outside of the disc Never use chemicals such as record sprays household cleaners or thinner to clean compact discs Such chemicals can irreparably damage the disc s surface Discs should be kept in their storage cases when not in use Do not expose discs to direct sunlight high temperatures or high humidity for extended periods Do not stick paper tape or labels on the disc surfaces nor write on them with any type of marker 14 12 24 MONTH LIMITED WARRANTY Applies to automotive radios radio tape players radio CD players CD changers power amplifiers equalizers and accessories AUDIOVOX CORPORATION the Company warran

17. n The Random Play mode can be canceled by pressing the button again SHUFFLE indication will disappear from the display panel or by activating the Repeat Play or Track Scan functions 65 DISC EJECT During CD player operation disc play is stopped and the disc is ejected when this button is pressed CD changer operation will automatically resume if a changer is being used otherwise radio operation will resume If the disc is not removed from the unit within approximately 10 seconds of being ejected it will automatically be re loaded into the unit to prevent it from being i accidentally damaged will appear on the display panel to indicate that a disc is loaded in the player Play of the disc can be resumed from the first track on the disc by using the MODE button to choose the CD player function 60 TIME FREQUENCY SELECTOR T F During radio operation press this button to call the time display on the quartz clock radio operation will continue uninterrupted the time display will remain together with the clock symbol the radio band in use and the preset station number in that band When another band and or frequency is selected the frequency band display will return for approximately 5 seconds and then revert to the tjime display as before During integral CD player operation or during CD changer operation apress of the button will call the time display but disc play will continue uninterrupted To ret
18. ng the SHUFFLE button again or by activating the Scan or Repeat Play functions If the tracks on the other discs are to be played in a random shuffled order then the disc in question must first be selected using the DISC or DISC button 5 DISC PAUSE SELECTION During disc play the PAUSE button allows you to interrupt changer disc play and then resume playback at a later time PAUS appears on the display during the pause period When PAUSE is pressed again disc play resumes from the point of interruption CD CHANGER ERROR CODES If a problem should develop while operating the CD changer the following error codes may appear the display panel EJEC Indicates that there is no magazine loaded in the CD changer ER 1 Indicates an error in the microprocessor control of the CD changer Eject the CD magazine from the changer and make sure the discs are clean undamaged and loaded correctly see Owner s Manual of the CD changer Re load the magazine and check for proper operation You may also try activating the RESET button on the unit but this will also erase the time and pre set memories ER 2 ER 3 temperature at the changer returns to a normal range Indicates a CD changer mechanism error Try ejecting and re loading the CD magazine into the changer Indicates excessive temperature conditions at the CD changer The error sign will go off and play will resume when the If the suggested measures do not solve the problem con
