2.  ATTENTION   Danger of burns        e Do not put any detergent or chemical sub     stance in the boiler  Water by its nature con   tains magnesium  mineral salts and other de        posits which in hard water areas can  contribute to limescale build up in the tank   To avoid these problems  it is necessarv to  swill out with tapwater and empty the gener   ator tank after every 3 or 4 uses In very hard  water areas we recommend the use of our  KALSTOP FP 2003  a special natural base  decalcifier which inhibits and breaks down  limescale  making it easy to remove just by  swilling out the tank with a little tapwater   This is a preventive against scale build up  and protects the metal walls of the steam  generator tank  KALSTOP is available from  Polti dealers or by mail order from your Polti  Service Centre      We recommend only using original Polti  products as other products may not be  suitable for use with Polti appliances and  may cause serious damage    e Never use distilled water or scented wa   ter      Do not use demineralised water alone  but  mix it with tap water as described above    e If you iron sitting down  do not place your  legs under the ironing board  the steam can  cause burns      Iron only on heat resistant surfaces and on  surfaces that allow the steam to escape e g   mesh ironing boards      For iron stand replacement use only original  spare parts      Check that the continuous steam request  button is switched off before connecting the  appliance t

4.  malfun   ctioning has been caused that could affect  product safety      WARNING If you iron sitting down  be careful  to make sure that you do not direct the jet of  steam toward your legs  Steam can cause  scalding      The iron must be used and rested on a sta   ble surface    e When replacing the iron on its base  make  sure that the surface the base is resting on is  stable        PROGRAMME PO  TURBO  SUGTIONING   Programme PO is useful for vacuuming particu   larly dirty surfaces or suctioning up liquids   Fasten the two extension tubes  D  to the han   dle and attach the universal brush  E  to them   Use the attachment appropriate to the type of  surface to be cleaned  as described in the sec   tion on    advice for use of accessories        Press the suction button  A4  to start suctio     74    ning at maximum power  press the suction  button  A4  again to stop suctioning   This programme also effectively removes  animal fur from floors  carpets and rugs or  from sofas and textiles when the small  steam suction upholstery nozzle  N  and  the bristle fitting  P  are used     FILLING THE BOILER    The automatic topping up system means you  no longer need to stop and wait before filling  the boiler with water again    When the water level in the boiler is low  the le   vel probe automatically requests water from the  tank  using a pump to fill the boiler    When the water level in the automatic filling  tank is low  the Lamp indicating lack of water in  tank light  8G
