The Sleep M ode can be selected with a Heating or Cooling Mode Note In this MODE the selected cooling temperature will increase by 2 degrees F 30 minutes after the mode is selected The temperature will then increase by another 2 degrees F after an additional 30 minutes This new temperature will be maintained for 7 hours before it returns to the originally selected temperature If this Mode is selected with Heat the set temperature will Decrease at the same time pattern This ends the Sleep MODE and the unit will continue to operate as originally programmed The Sleep MODE program can be cancelled at any time during operation by pressing Sleep MODE button CLEAN FILTER FEATURE YOU WILL SEE DO THIS PRESS TO RESET Note This feature is a reminder to clean the Air Filter See Care and Cleaning for more efficient operation and cooling The LED light will illuminate after 250 hours of operation To reset after cleaning the filter press the Clean Filter button and the light will go off HEATING FEATURE on some models YOU WILL SEE DO THIS PRESS MODE BUTTON SELECT HEAT Note This feature can be used with any combination of FAN Speeds Timer or Sleep Modes When in the Heat Mode the fan will run continuously while heat is needed The temperature will automatically be maintained anywhere between 55 F 13 C and 80 F 27 C When the room set temperature is satisfied the fan will

Cleaning 11 Avoid Service Checklist Normal Sounds Sound of Rushing Air At the front of the unit you may hear the sound Te ESN e TA of rushing air being moved by the fan Gurgle Hiss High Pitched Chatter Todav s high efficient compressors mav have a high pitched chatter during the cooling cvcle Vibration Unit mav vibrate and make noise because of poor wall or window construction or incorrect installation Pinging or Swisbing Droplets of water hitting i condenser during normal operation may cause pinging or swishing sounds Gurgling or hissing noise may be heard due to refrigerant passing through evaporation during normal operation Important Safetv Instructions Avoid fire hazard or electric snock Do not use an extension cord or an adaptor plug Do not remove any prong from the power cord Grounding type wall receptacle Do not under any circumstances cut remove or bypass the grounding prong Power supply cord with 3 prong grounding plug Read all instructions before using this air conditioner For Your Safety Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance Read product labels for flammability and other warnings Prevent Accidents To reduce the risk of fire electrical shock or injury to persons when using your air conditioner follow basic precautions including the

Filter Cleaning The air filter should be checked at least once a month to see if cleaning is necessary Trapped particles in the filter can build up and cause an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils e Grasp the filter by the center and pull up and out e Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water Rinse filter thoroughly Gently shake excess water from the filter Be sure filter is thoroughly dry before replacing Or instead of washing you may vacuum the filter clean Cabinet Cleaning e Be sure to unplug the air conditioner to prevent shock or fire hazard The cabinet and front may be dusted with an oil free cloth or washed with a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and mild liquid dishwashing detergent Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry e Never use harsh cleaners wax or polish on the cabinet front e Be sure to wring excess water from the cloth before wiping around the controls Excess water in or around the controls may cause damage to the air conditioner e Plug in air conditioner Winter Storage If you plan to store the air conditioner for the winter cover it with plastic or return it to the original carton NOTE To prevent rust or electrical connections from being damaged store air conditioner in an upright position and a dry place A winter cover can be purchased from your dealer The cover will protect the air conditioner when it is left in place through the winter 10 N O i

SAVER FEATURE YOU WILL SEE DO THIS PRESS MODE BUTTON CHOOSE POWER SAVER Note In this mode the fan will continue to run for 3 minutes after the compressor shuts off The fan then cycles on for 2 minutes at 10 minute intervals until the room temperature is above the set temperature at which time the unit cooling system starts again TIM ER DELAV FIRST START STOP FEATURE DO THIS YOU WILL SEE PRESS TIMER BUTTON THEN DO THIS PRESS TEM P TIMER TIMER BUTTON Note 1 For Delay Stop the unit must be in the ON position Note 2 For Delay Start the unit must be in the OFF position To adjust timer setting tap or hold the UP arrow 7 or DOWN arrow v to change the delay time by 5 hour increments up to 10 hours then by 1 hour increments up to 24 hours The control will count down the time remaining until start 8 7 5 7 etc The Delay Start mode automatically selects cooling with maximum Fan Speed The temperature maintained will be the same as previously set To change the set temperature press COOL then Up or Down arrows until the desired temperature is indicated on the display After 5 seconds the control will automatically change the display back to the hours remaining until the unit will start stop Turning the unit ON or OFF at any time will cancel the Delay Start Stop function Air Conditioner Features continued SLEEP FEATURE YOU WILL SEE DO THIS PRESS SLEEP PAD

TO CHANGE TEMPERATURE SETTING DO THIS PRESS TO RAISE PRESS TO LOWER Note Tap or hold either up 7 or down v button until the desired temperature is seen on display This temperature will be automatically maintained anywhere between 60F 16C and 90F 32C for cooling mode The Temperature will be automatically maintained anywhere between 55F 13C and 80F 27C for heating mode If you want the display to read the actual room temperature FAN SEE ONLY MODE YOU WILL SEE TO CHANGE FAN SPEEDS THE SPEED CHOSEN DO THIS PRESS FAN SPEED BUTTON SELECT SPEED DO THIS PRESS FAN SPEED BUTTON SELECT AUTO FAN Note The fan speed will begin in HI then adjust to MED and LO as the room temperature conditions indictates For example in cooling if the room doesn t get too warm it will stay at LO If the room temperature rises quickly such as a door being opened it will automatically go to HI speed The fan speeds will adjust back to LO as the room returns to the original set temperature 6 Air Conditioner Features continued TO OPERATE ON FAN ONLY YOU WILL SEE DO THIS PRESS MODE BUTTON CHOOSE FAN ONLY Note Use this function only when cooling is not desired such as for room air circulation You can choose any fan speed you prefer EXCEPT AUTO FAN During this function the display will show the actual current temperature not the set temperature as in the cooling mode TO USE THE POWER
7. cycle off and on to circulate and sample the room air Air Conditioner Features continued TO TURN UNIT OFF YOU WILL SEE DO THIS PRESS ON OFF BUTTON ADDITIONAL THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW Now that you have mastered the operating procedure here are more features in your control that you should know e The Remote Control will operate all the control panel features follow the same instructions e The Cool circuit has an automatic 3 minute time delayed start if the unit is turned off and on quickly This prevents overheating of the compressor and possible circuit breaker tripping The fan will continue to run during this time e The control will maintain any set temperature between 60 F and 90 F degrees cooling 55 F and 80 F heating e The control is capable of displaying temperature in degrees Fahrenheit or degrees Celsius To convert from one to the other press and hold the Up and Down Temperature Selection Pads at the same time for 3 seconds Air Conditioner Features 4 Way Air Directional Louvers continued The 4 Way air directional louvers allow you to direct air flow up or down left or right throughout the room as needed To adjust the air directional louvers side to side use the center handle as you move it side to side Clean your air conditioner occasionally to keep it looking new Be sure to unplug Care and Cleaning the unit before cleaning to prevent shock or fire hazards Air
