2. press the PROGRAM MEMORY button 6 again Repeat step 5 until you have programmed up to 20 track numbers into the CD Program Memory When the memory is full it will stay on program 20 After programming up to 20 tracks in the CD Program Memory press the PLAY PAUSE bII POWER ON button to begin Programmed playback PROGRAM will appear in the display and playback will begin on the first track that you programmed The player will continue to play all of the tracks that you programmed in the order in which you programmed them When the last programmed track has been played the player will stop To play back the program again press the PLAY PAUSE e POWER ON button To clear the CD Program Memory while in the Stop mode press the STOP TIME SET POWER OFF button to clear the programmed memory Press the STOP M TIME SET POWER OFF button O a third time to turn the unit off PROGRAMMED REPEAT OOO GC 00600 It is also possible to use the Program and Repeat functions together to repeat a specific program indefinitely First program the tracks in the order you wish to hear them as described above The PROGRAM indicator will appear in the display Programmed Repeat playback will continue indefinitely until you press the STOP M TIME GEI POWER OFF button Press the PLAY PAUSE I 11 POWER ON button O to begin the Programmed playback then press the REPEAT C

TUNING SKIP SEARCH WW Button 5 VOLUME Button 6 PROGRAM MEMORY Button 7 STOP I TIME GEI POWER OFF Button 8 EQ TIMER Button 9 SLEEP Button 10 TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH W Button 11 ALARM MODE MEM Button 12 REPEAT CLOCK Button COND Om A Ga h A OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS SETTING THE CLOCK While the unit is off the clock appears in the display press the STOP M TIME SET POWER OFF button the hour digit s will blink in the display To set the hour press the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH M button to decrease and or the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH Dl button to increase the hour Press and hold either button for rapid searching When the hour is set press the STOP TIME SET POWER OFF button again the minute digits will blink in the display OO eo 000 To set the minute press the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH M button O to decrease and or the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH W button to increase the minute Press and hold either button for rapid searching When the minute is set press the STOP 8 TIME SET POWER OFF button again the clock will be set and the colon will blink PRESET EQ TURNING THE UNIT ON OFF SELECTING BETWEEN CD AND RADIO MODE With the power on press the EQ TIMER button to cycle through the preset EQ settings or to turn the EQ off Each press of the PRESET EQ

MODE with the unit off press the EQ TIMER button TIMER will appear in the display next to the current time To cancel press the EQ TIMER button again TIMER will disappear in the display NOTES e Before activating the timer make sure the unit is in the Standby mode Otherwise there will not be sound when the Timer s On time is reached e Before activating the timer make sure there is a disc inside the CD compartment when waking to a CD or make sure a AM FM station is tuned before turning off the unit Otherwise there will not be sound when the Timer s On time is reached When TIMER On time is reached the unit will turn on for CD or Radio for 1 hour then turn off If the CD disc total tracks is below 1 hour then the unit will playback all the tracks on the CD and then stop 15 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CONTINUED ACTIVATING THE SLEEP FUNCTION Set the sleep timer as follows With the unit is on press the SLEEP button and OFF and SLEEP will appear in the display Press the SLEEP button again 90 will appear in the display and the unit will turn off after 90 minutes Press the SLEEP button a second time to set the unit to turn off after 60 minutes Each additional press with decrease the sleep time 90 60 45 30 15 OFF Press the SLEEP button repeatedly until OFF appears in the display to deactivate the Sleep feature 16 CARE AN
5. amplifiers that produce heat 24 NOTE TO CATV SYSTEM INSTALLER This reminder is provided to call the CATV system installer s attention to Article 820 40 of the NEC that provides guidelines for proper grounding and in particular specifies that the cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the building as close to the point of cable entry as practical PREPARATION FOR USE SPEAKER CONNECTION Locate the Speaker Jacks on the rear of the unit and connect the right speaker to the Right R Speaker jack and the left speaker to the Left L Speaker jack CAUTION Only connect the speakers which are supplied with the unit The use of any other or additional speakers may cause damage to the unit Never operate the unit without the speakers connected HEADPHONE JACK To listen to the unit through headphones simply insert headphones not included into the Headphone jack The speakers will be disconnected when the headphones are plugged in BATTERY OPERATION FOR THE REMOTE CONTROL The battery compartment is located on the rear of the remote control e Remove the battery compartment door by pressing in on the tab and lifting the battery compartment door off e Insert two 2 AAA size batteries into the battery compartment as shown to the right Be sure to observe the polarity markings which are engraved inside the battery compartment If the batteries are inserted incorrectly the remote control will not operate e Replac
6. button will cycle as follows JAZZ ROCK POP CLASSIC Off Press the PLAY PAUSE ei POWER ON button O or RADIO AM FM POWER ON button to turn the unit on the display will light brightly Press the STOP M TIME SET POWER OFF button 6 while in the CD stop mode or Radio mode to turn the unit off If the unit is in CD mode press the RADIO AM FM POWER ON button O to change to Radio mode OR lf the unit is in RADIO mode press the PLAY PAUSE gt II POWER ON button to change to CD mode 8 LISTENING TO THE RADIO OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CONTINUED Press the RADIO AM FM POWER ON button to turn the unit on AM or FM and the freguency will appear in the display Press the RADIO AM FM POWER ON button to select AM or FM MANUAL TUNING Repeatedly press the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH WO or Me button to manually advance the frequency in the display up or down until the desired frequency appears AUTOMATIC TUNING Press and hold the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH M or We button until the frequency in the display starts to scan and then release the button the tuner will search and then stop on the next strong station it finds Repeat this step until the desired frequency appears in the display Press the EQ button and adjust the volume using the VOLUME 6 or 6 button as desired To turn the unit off press the STOP M TIM
7. 00O OO eo O O i O 000 Oi eo O O During CD playback if you wish to pause the disc momentarily press the PLAY PAUSE I POWER ON button Playback stops but the disc continues to spin and the time display will blink Press the PLAY PAUSE pb Il POWER ON button again to release pause and resume normal CD playback 11 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CONTINUED FORWARD REVERSE SKIP TRACK AND HIGH SPEED MUSIC SEARCH aalt O O Q During playback press the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH button once to advance the player to the beginning of the next track Press the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH button repeatedly to advance the player to higher numbered tracks During playback press the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH WW button once to move the player back to the beginning of the current track Press the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH M button repeatedly to move the player back to lower numbered tracks During playback depress and hold either the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH Dl or WW button to move the player forward or backward within a track to locate a specific musical passage The player will move forward or backward at high speed as long as the button is depressed When you release the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH or M4 button normal playback will resume RANDOM PLAYBACK 000 a oo 00o To play the tracks on the CD in a random ord

D MAINTENANCE Caring for Compact Discs e Treat the compact disc carefully Handle the compact disc only by its edges Never allow your fingers to come in O contact with the shiny unprinted side of the compact disc A e Do not attach adhesive tape stickers etc to the compact disc label e Clean the compact disc periodically with a soft lint free dry cloth Never use detergents or abrasive cleaners to clean the compact disc lf necessary use a CD cleaning kit e f a compact disc skips or gets stuck on a section of the compact disc it is probably dirty or damaged scratched e When cleaning the compact disc wipe in straight lines from the center of the compact disc to the outer edge of the compact disc Never wipe in circular motions e This unit is designed to play only compact discs bearing the identification logo as shown here S MFACT Other compact discs may not conform to the CD standard and may not play properly 5 5 e Compact discs should be stored in their cases after each use to avoid damage SN Do not expose compact discs to direct sunlight high humidity high temperatures or dust etc Prolonged exposure or extreme temperatures can warp the compact disc e Do not stick or write anything on either side of the compact disc Sharp writing instruments or the ink may damage the surface Cleaning the Unit e To prevent fire or shock hazard disconnect your unit from the AC power source when

E SET POWER OFF button 6 Hints for Better Reception AM The AM ferrite bar antenna is located inside the unit It may be necessary to turn the unit slightly so that the internal antenna is pointing in the direction of the AM transmitter You may have to experiment to find the position that provides the strongest reception for each of your favorite AM stations FM Make sure that the FM Wire Antenna is extended to its full length You may have to vary the direction of the antenna to find the strongest signal for each FM station OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CONTINUED SETTING RADIO PRESETS This unit can preset 10 AM and 10 FM radio stations for convenient recall Press the RADIO AM FM POWER ON button to turn the unit on AM or FM and the freguency will appear in the display Press the RADIO AM FM POWER ON button to select AM or FM Press the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH M or We button to select a station a dr r Press the PROGRAM MEMORY button O the preset number will blink in the display Press the ALARM MODE MEM button 6 until the desired memory number appears on the display Press the PROGRAM MEMORY button again to set the station in the selected memory Repeat steps 3 through 5 to program up to 10 stations in each band if desired RECALLING RADIO PRESETS 10 EACH BAND 1 2 Follow steps 1 and 2 above Press the ALARM M

LOCK button twice to enter the repeat All mode REPEAT ALL will appear in the display The player will play the tracks you selected in the order in which you programmed them When the last track in the program has been played the entire program will begin again 14 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CONTINUED SETTING THE TIMER Set the timer to turn the unit on and off to the Tuner or CD mode at a preset time as follows REPEAT CLOCK button O and then press the STOP I8 TIME SET POWER OFF button within 5 seconds to enter the Timer ON setting mode TIMER will appear and the hour will blink on the display With the power off press the button to select the desired wake up function CD or RADIO Make sure to insert a CD or tune a station as desired before turning the unit off Press the ALARM MODE MEM the TUNING SKIP Press SEARCH TIME M4 or Ph O button to set the timer On hour and then press the STOP M TIME SET POWER OFF button again the minutes will blink the unit will turn off Press the TIME TUNING SKIP SEARCH M or dl O button to set the timer On minute and then press the STOP M TIME SET POWER OFF button 6 again the timer will then be set When the actual time matches the Timer s On time the unit will turn on to the function selected in Step 2 To turn off the timer press the EQ TIMER button TO ACTIVATE THE TIMER ON

21. ot fit into your outlet you should contact a qualified licensed electrician to replace your obsolete outlet IMPORTANT NOTES e Before moving or lifting the unit make sure the power plug is disconnected from the power source e If there is a power failure or the AC cord is disconnected when the power is resumed or the AC cord is connected again The clock will be reset 12 00 will appear on the display and you will need to set it again However the Radio Preset stations will be kept although there is a power failure or you disconnected the AC cord AC Outlet AC Plug PREPARATION FOR USE CONTINUED CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL UNIT EXTERNAL AUDIO SOURCE You can connect an external unit to this unit such as a cassette player etc Simply connect the supplied audio cable from the AUX IN jack on this unit to the external unit s AUX OUT jack This will allow you to broadcast the external unit s sound through this unit When the unit is on if an external unit is connected via the AUX IN jack the unit will change to AUX IN mode automatically AUX will appear in the display To power on the unit press the Play Pause Power On button or RADIO AM FM POWER ON button on the remote control or on the main unit To power off the unit press the Power Off Stop Clock set button on the remote control or on the unit NOTES e Connecting the unit to an external audio source will allow you to broadcast the external units sound th
