Honeywell Portable True HEPA Air Purifier READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Install Pre filter Before Initial Use Owner s Manual For LifeTime HEPA Permanent Filter Model 18155 Air Purifier The Science of Clean Air IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS READ AND SAVE THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS AIR PURIFIER When using electrical appliances basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire electric shock and injury to persons including the following 1 Read all instructions before operating the air purifier 2 Place air purifier where it is not easily knocked over by persons in the household 3 Always turn the air purifier to the OFF position and unplug from the wall outlet when not in use 4 To disconnect the air purifier first turn control to the OFF position grip the plug and pull it from the wall outlet Never pull by the cord 5 Do not use any product with a damaged cord or plug or if product malfunctions is dropped or damaged in any manner Keep the cord away from heated surfaces 6 Do not use air purifier outdoors 7 Never use air purifier unless it is fully assembled 8 Do not run power cord under carpets and do not cover with throw rugs Arrange cord such that it will not be tripped over Do not use air purifier where combustible gases or vapors are present 10 Do not expose the air purifier to rain or use near water in a bathroom la2. if pre filter needs replacement To vacuum clean the filter hold the filter and run a vacuum cleaner with a nozzle or brush attachment along the filter to pick up the dirt and particles Fig 4 Repeat along the entire surface of the HEPA filter Do not penetrate the HEPA paper pleats with the vacuum attachment since tearing or puncturing can occur Note that the filter may still be discolored even after cleaning it This is acceptable and will not affect performance After vacuuming the filter wrap the pre filter around the HEPA filter and place the whole assembly back into the internal chamber of the air purifier see Removing Changing the Filters You now need to reset the Intelli Check Filter Indicator With the air purifier powered on press and hold the appropriate filter indicator button for approximately 10 seconds until the light turns off see Fig 1 If the HEPA filter clogs or if you have difficulty cleaning the filter please visit us at www kaz com or call us at 1 800 332 1110 Permanent filter life based on ordinary use and care Cleaning and Storage We recommend that you clean the air purifier at least once a month and before extended storage Use only a dry cloth to wipe external surfaces of the air purifier DO NOT USE WATER WAX POLISH OR ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTION If you store your Honeywell HEPA air purifier for more than 30 days we recommend e Removing both the primary HEPA filter and th
3. the filter assembly consisting of the HEPA filter and pre filter from the internal chamber e Locate the seam of the pre filter and carefully separate the fastener to remove the pre filter from the HEPA filter e Discard used pre filter if necessary Clean the HEPA filter if necessary e Replace HEPA Filter there is no top or bottom to filter e Replace top cover e Insert and tighten handle clockwise To Replace Pre filter e Place unit on its side e Push in on both tabs on base ring to release base Fig 3 e Gently remove base from motor assembly Fig 2 Open 4 Close Handle lt Handle ea Filter T Pre filter installed on Base Ring Fig 3 Groove to release X Base Ring e Install initial pre filter or replace used one Wrap pre filter around Base Ring and attach with fastener provided e Align base into grooves and gently snap back into place Cleaning the Lifetime HEPA Permanent Filter The LifeTime HEPA Filter is vacuum able and should be cleaned regularly for optimum performance To Clean the HEPA Filter DO NOT USE WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS TO CLEAN THE HEPA FILTER Turn the air purifier OFF and unplug from the wall outlet After removing the filter assembly from the air purifier refer to section Removing Changing the Filters in this manual separate and remove the carbon pre filter from the HEPA filter and place aside or discard

5. ction Cleaning the LifeTime HEPA Permanent Filter in this manual When your Pre filter Indicator Light turns on it s time to replace your pre filter It should be replaced at least every 3 months If there are heavy concentrations of odors smoke or large particles in the home you may need to change the carbon pre filter more often For instructions on how to replace your pre filter refer to section Removing Changing the Filters in this manual Note We do not recommend operating the air purifier without the carbon pre filter Reset Filter Indicator Turn Light Off To Reset Filter Indicator e Once the filter has been checked and cleaned or replaced as needed the filter indicator will need to be reset e With the unit powered on press and hold the appropriate filter indicator button down for approximately 10 seconds until the light turns off Fig 1 Removing Changing the Filters INSTALL PRE FILTER BEFORE INITIAL OPERATION The initial pre filter is packaged separately to ensure its freshness BEFORE initial operation locate the pre filter in the box remove it from its packaging and install per instructions below e DISCONNECT from power supply before servicing e Replace filter s and re assemble unit per instructions below e Plug in and RESET appropriate filter monitor s To Remove HEPA Filter for Cleaning e Unscrew handle counter clockwise Fig 2 e Remove top cover e Remove

8. e initial operation Refer to Removing Changing the Filters section for proper installation INSTALL PRE FILTER BEFORE INITIAL OPERATION Refer to Removing Changing the Filters section for proper installation To encourage operation on higher speeds the Honeywell 18155 air purifier has been designed to operate very quietly and effectively without a cool exhaust draft To operate press the POWER button to HIGH speed for a few seconds and then leave it on high for faster more powerful air circulation or move it to a lower setting as desired Intelli Check Filter Indicators The Intelli Check Filter Indicators serve as a convenient guideline for when to clean the LifeTime HEPA Permanent Filter and when to replace the carbon pre filter Depending upon your individual usage environment and hours used you may need to clean replace the filters more or less frequently When the HEPA Filter Indicator Light turns on it s time to clean your HEPA filter The Intelli Check reminder for when to clean the HEPA filter is intended as a guideline only as the performance of the filter media is dependent on the concentration of the contaminants to which the system is exposed If there are sources of large amounts of contaminant generation such as dust from woodworking or heavy smoking the HEPA filter in your air purifier may need to be cleaned more often For instructions on how to clean your HEPA filter refer to se
