7. anic Feature for your own personal safety even away from the car Hood Trunk Trigger Input to provide total perimeter protection Secured Valet Mode bypass alarm when car is valet parked or serviced On various models of BMW Jaguar Mercedes Benz and Volkswagen 2 Using Your XL2000 Security System E 4 Button 8 Channel Remote Control The 4 button 8 channel remote control is a miniature radio transmitter with a range of up to 100 feet Obstructions interference or a weak battery will reduce the range The remote control is the key to your security system It is a user friendly device that transmits eight distinct and unique digital codes channels 1 4 with the red slide switch in the up position and channels 5 8 with the switch down Use it to arm or disarm the system lock or unlock the doors activate its panic feature or control options such as headlight activation and remote trunk release TO ARM Press button I switch up once You will hear two chirps and THE SYSTEM the parking lights will flash twice The dashboard LED will flash repeatedly and the car doors will automatically lock Any attempt to break into the vehicle will immediately disable the starter sound the six sound siren and flash the parking lights TO DISARM Press button I switch up again One chirp and one flash of THE SYSTEM the parking lights will confirm disarming In addition the car doors will automatically unlock and the interior ligh
8. e you servicing costs To identify the trigger or sensor held in the system s non volatile memory simply perform the following procedure 1 With the ignition OFF flick the valet switch to one side 2 Press button I to arm the system then again to disarm 3 The LED will blink several times pause then repeat the blink cycle 4 times 4 Count the number of blinks in one cycle and refer to the chart that follows Number of LED blinks per cycle Trigger Sensor that Last Activated or Malfunctioned 1 blink Magnetic Resonance Sensor 2 blinks Door trigger 3 blinks Trunk or hood trigger m FACT W False Alarm Control and Test With FACT you ll never experience repeated false alarms If your six sound siren goes off DO NOT remotely disarm the system while the siren sounds allow it to run for the full siren duration Before sounding the siren a second time the system automatically checks for another activated trigger Should the siren sound again you will know for sure that someone is tampering with your vehicle To disable FACT see User Selectable Features on pages 9 10 m Dual Mode Tampering Warning Normally the system immediately sounds its six sound siren at the first inkling of an intrusion attempt However you may set the system to issue a rapid five chirp warning whenever the system detects tampering to the exterior of your vehicle If there is any further tampering within the next
9. electable Features section on pages 9 10 m Secured Valet Mode Whenever the alarm is put in secured valet mode all of the alarm functions are bypassed since it prevents AutoArming and accidental activation of the alarm You should use the valet mode whenever your car is either to be serviced by mechanics handed over to car wash personnel or driven by valet attendants It also comes in handy if you ever lose your remote control or its battery dies If you have the AutoArming feature set on when fueling your car either put the alarm in valet mode or leave the driver s door open the system will not Auto Arm if a door is open Be sure to ask your installer to show you where the valet switch is located m To turn ON the secured valet mode 1 Insert your ignition key and turn it to the ON position or start the engine 2 Flip the valet switch 3 The LED will glow continuously to indicate that the alarm is in secured valet mode m To turn OFF the secured valet mode 1 Insert your ignition key and turn it to the ON position or start the engine 2 Flip the valet switch 3 The LED will turn off to indicate that the alarm is in normal operating mode m Keyless Entry in Valet Mode Even if valet mode on you will still be able to remotely control all the convenience features For instance simply press but ton I as if you were arming or disarming and your car s doors will lock or un lock You can also use buttons II and IV

14. nroof Closure The system s built in timer can control one of two great features when the system is in its armed state these features require optional wiring Kk Remote Controlled Headlight Activation OR Kk Remote Controlled Window Sunroof Closure available only on certain vehicles Please see page 4 To Activate an Option when the Alarm is Armed If connected to the headlights you may set the timer duration to any interval between 1 second and 2 5 minutes See the User Selectable Features section on pages 9 10 WARNING If your built in timer controls window sunroof closure in your car DO NOT change the timer setting This requires installer only programming Changing the value will adversely effect operation and may cause damage User Selectable Features Your XL2000 vehicle security system allows you to set many of its features to your own personal preferences We have made the programming procedures very simple to make a change you just flick the valet switch a few times The system comes from the factory with all of its features pre programmed as noted in the table below and on page 10 To change any of the settings use the procedure noted To restore the feature to its factory setting just repeat the procedure 1 Select the feature you wish to program from the table on the following pages Note the number of flicks and chirps associated with that feature 2 Insert your ignition key and turn it to the ON position 3 I
