7. you may want a dedicated telephone line for your modem 3 Connecta Makesurethe computer is turned off bi directional parallel cable to You can purchase a Centronics compatible parallel cable with bi directional the MultiPASS capability from your dealer or from any computer store M ake sure the cable is IEEE 1284 compliant O A cable of 6 6 feet or less in length is recommended O Align the cable connector with the interface port so the shapes match O Gently press the cable connector into the port O Securethe cable connector by snapping the two wire clips located on the sides of the port into the cable connector O Connect the other end of the cable to the parallel interface port on your computer 4 Attach the Plugthepower cord connector into the back of the unit power cord O Plugthe other end of the power cord into a properly grounded AC outlet three pronged outlet The M ultiPASS L6000 has no power switch The power is on as long as the system is plugged in Asthe M ultiPASS warms up it displays the PLEASE WAIT message in the LCD PLEASE WAIT Because the toner cartridge is not installed yet you will also see this message CHECK COVER CART O TheM ultiPASS L6000 is equipped with a 3 prong grounding type plug the third pin isa grounding pin This plug will only fit into a grounding type outlet Thisis a safety feature If you are unable to insert the plug in
