WILL SEE SETTING TO ADJUST FAN SPEEDS YOU WILL SEE DO THIS PRESS TO SELECT FASTER SLOWER Note Tap or hold either up d or down W button until the desired temperature is seen on the display This tempera ture will be automatically maintained anywhere between 60 F 16 C and 90 F 32 C If you want the display to read the actual room temperature See To Operate on Fan section on Page 14 Press the Fan Faster button 4 will increase the fan speed from Low LO to Medium ME to High HI The digital display will indicate your chosen speed Press the Fan Slower button W will decrease the fan speed from High HI to Medium ME to Low LO The digital display will indicate your chosen speed After 5 seconds the display will revert back to the set temperature LIGHT ON Note Fan starts at High Speed and adjusts to a slower speed as the room temperature dictates For example if the room doesn t get too warm it will stay at the slowest speed If the room temperature rises quickly such as a door being opened it will automatically go to the highest speed The fan speeds will re adjust back to the slowest speed as the room returns to the original set temperature Press either the fan slower W or fan faster button 4 to adjust the fan speed manually 13 HOW TO OPERATE TO OPERATE ON FAN DO THIS PRESS MODE BUTTON CHOOSE FAN TO USE THE ENERGY SAVE DO THIS PR

ESS MODE BUTTON CHOOSE ENERGY SAVE TIMER TIMER ON OFF 4 PRESS TIMER QQ a DO THIS BUTTON fouss 6 14 YOU WILL SEE YOU WILL SEE LIGHT ON Note Use this function only when cooling is not desired such as for room air circulation or to exhaust stale air Remember to open the vent during this function but keep it closed during cooling for maximum cooling efficiency You can choose any fan speed you prefer During this function the display will show the actual room tem perature not the set temperature as in the cooling mode LIGHT ON Note In this mode the fan will continue to run for 3 minutes after the compressor shuts off The fan then cycles on for 2 minutes at 10 minute intervals until the room temperature is above the set temperature at which time the compressor turns back on and cooling starts YOU WILL SEE HOW MUCH TIME IS CHOSEN LIGHT ON Note For Timer Off the unit must be in the On position Note For Timer On the unit must be in the Off position To adjust timer setting tap or hold the UP arrow 4 or the DOWN arrow wy to change delay timer at 0 5 hour incre ments up to 10 hours then at 1 hour increments up to 24 hours The control will count down the time remaining until start 8 7 5 7 etc The Timer On mode automatically selects cooling with maximum Fan Speed The temperature maintained will be the same as previously set To change the set temperature press

8. apter Grounded receptacle box e Grounding P rona ee A Grounded io g receptacle box Grounding wire e Screw Tab for grounding screw PRECAUTIONS NOTES ON OPERATION Allow 3 minutes for the compressor to restart cooling If you turn the air conditioner off and immediately restart it allow three minutes for the compressor to restart cooling There is an electronic device in the unit that keeps the compressor off for three minutes 10 When power failure occurs This air conditioner has a memory function to store settings when a power failure occurs After power recovery the unit will automatically re start in the same settings which were active before the power failure Dehumidifying function The air conditioner removes moisture from the air in your room Cooling operation under low temperatures Is your unit freezing up The unit operates on inside and outside temperatures Freezing can occur when the temperature is set close to 64 F and when there are low outside temperatures especially during the night hours At these conditions a further temperature drop may cause the unit to freeze Setting the unit to a higher temperature will prevent it from freezing ENERGY EFFICIENCY TIPS Setting the proper temperature For optimum energy efficiency keep the difference between the inside and outside temperature within 10 F 5 C Do not keep the temperature setting any lower than is necessary for you to feel c
9. cleaned every 10 days At the beginning of every cooling season or after a long period of inactivity clean the filter before starting the unit REMOVE THE FILTER Open the front panel and get the filter out CLEAN THE FILTER To remove dust from the filter use a vacuum cleaner or wash it in clean water If the filter is very dirty wash it with detergent and rinse carefully with clean water Dry the filter with a soft cloth Do not expose the filter to heat or dry it in direct sunlight 3 RE INSTALL THE FILTER Put the filter into its original position and close the front panel Never operate the unit without installing the filter It may result in serious damage to the unit CLEANING OF THE FRONT PANEL AND CABINET To clean the front panel and cabinet wipe with a soft dry cloth or with a cloth moistened with a mild soap Rinse carefully by wiping with a damp cloth and dry completely Avoid splashing the unit with water Excess water can damage electrical insulation and result in danger Never use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on any part of the unit To avoid damage to the unit do not use hot water 120 F 50 C or more when cleaning OILING OF THE COMPRESSOR AND FAN MOTOR IS UNNECESSARY The compressor is permanently lubricated and is hermetically sealed The fan motor is lifetime sealed and does not require oiling REMOVING THE AIR CONDITIONER Before removing the air conditioner operate the unit in

12. ies always use two new ones of the same type e f the remote control does not operate normally after replacing the batteries take out the batteries and replace them again after 30 seconds e f you will not be using the unit for a long time remove the batteries from the remote control HOW TO USE THE REMOTE CONTROL Point the remote control towards the unit s re ceiver window and press the desired button A beep will sound when the unit receives the signal e Make sure no objects such as curtains block the receiver window e The remote control operates from up to 20 feet 6 meters away e The beep will also sound when each pad on the control panel is touched lt 2 ka CAUTION e Do not expose the receiver window to direct sunlight This can adversely affect its operation In such case close the curtains to block the sunlight e Use of a fluorescent lamp in the same room may interfere with the transmission of the signal e The unit may be affected by signals emitted from the remote control of a television VCR or other equipment used in the same room e Do not leave the remote control exposed to direct sunlight or near a heater Protect the remote control from moisture and shock which can discolor or damage it CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE CLEANING THE FILTER If the filter is clogged with dust the amount of air flow will be reduced resulting in poor cooling performance The filter should be

14. logged with dust A dirty filter can cause the cooling coils to freeze If this happens clean the filter and replace Run the airconditioner on the MED FAN setting until all ice dissipates els the temperature set properly If your room is too warm adjust the temperature setting lower els the window exposed to direct sunlight Close curtains or blinds to minimize solar energy heating the room e Are the windows or doors open Close all windows and doors for maximum cooling BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE NOTE WATER IN BOTTOM OF TRAY e Water will collect in the bottom tray of the unit This is normal Water condenses on the evaporator coil at the front of the unit and is channeled to the rear where it is picked up by the condenser fan The water is blown onto the condenser coil fins and this creates a splashing noise which is normal If excess water builds up in this tray it will drain outside through a grooved channel in the tray SOUNDS e The operating sound may seem rather loud for 2 to 3 minutes when the unit is first turned on This is the sound of the compressor s start up and is normal e A soft swishing noise can be heard immediately after the unit is turned on or off and also during operation This is the sound of the refrigerant flowing inside the unit IF THE UNIT FAILS TO RECEIVE THE REMOTE CONTROL SIGNAL e Check the remote control batteries Replace if necessary e Try to send the signal again with the remote control poi
15. move the top rail from the bottom ee of the packaging material as shown in FIG 1A oN j3 m se oe ee al 2 aE Top rail Align the hole in the top rail with those in top of the unit as shown in FIG 1B The higher flange should be toward the front of the air conditioner FIG 1A Secure the top rail to the unit with the Screws as shown in FIG 1C INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS NOTE Top Rail and Sliding Panels at each side are offset to provide the proper pitch to the rear of 5 16 This is necessary for proper condensed water utilization and drainage If you are not using the Side Panels for any reason this pitch to the rear must be maintained Place unit on floor a bench ora table There is a 3 Left and Right Window Filler Panel be sure to use the proper panel for each side When installed the flange for securing the panel to the window sill will be facing into the room A Hold the Accordion Panel in one hand and gently pull back the panel beyond the ends of the frame See FIG 2 B Slide the free end T section of the panel into the cabinet as shown in FIG 3 amp 4 Slide the panel down Be sure to leave enough space to slip the top and bottom of the frame into the rails on the cabinet C Once the panel has been installed on the side of the cabinet make sure it sits securely inside the frame channel Slide the top and bottom ends of the frame into the top and bottom ra
