Page 24 Page 25 Page 26 09 11 13 1 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The SMOKYTHEK is a dispenser of cigarette packs or other products of a similar size and weight The machine is typically placed at the check out of supermarket or convenience store It is not a dispensing machine because there is no possibility for a customer to pay money into the machine It must be used under the supervision of store personnel The packs are stored in separate columns in the machine The customer or the shop assistant selects a brand by pressing the appropriate button on the selection panel the brand being shown by a decal The pack is then ejected from that column and then carried by conveyor belt in a lift up to the shop assistant The ejection of the pack is registered in the memory of the SMOKYTHEK In addition to the selection panel there is a small handheld terminal attached to the machine The shop assistant uses this handheld terminal principally for logging in with a password and for blocking and releasing the selection panel This way the shop assistant can control access to the cigarettes e g when lane is closed The handheld terminal is also used to read out statistics and for some service functions The STEREO SMOKYTHEK differs from the standard SMOKYTHEK in that it has two selection panels so that cigarette packs can be selected from either or both sides of the machine The machine recognizes which panel has been pressed and activates an addi
