Groups Adding a Contact to a Group 1 2 From the Home screen tap Contacts n Press and hold a contact that you would like to add to a group Tap Add to group Tap a group entry Tap Done The contact is added to the group Removing a Contact From a Group 1 2 From the Home screen tap Contacts gt Groups Remove member Tap all of the contacts you want to remove from this group A green checkmark will appear next to their name Tap Done The contacts are now removed from the group Creating a New Group 1 From the Home screen tap Contacts Groups gi gt Create Tap the Group name field and use the on screen keypad to enter a new group name For more information refer to Entering Text on page 55 Tap Group ringtone to choose a ringtone for assignment to this new group Tap Message alert to choose an audio file for assignment to this new group Tap Vibration pattern to choose an audio file for assignment to this new group Tap Add member to add contacts to the new group Tap each contact you want to add to create a checkmark You can also tap Select all Contacts and Your Address Book 67 8 Done 9 Save to save the new Group category Editing a Caller Group To edit a Group entry there must be at least one member as part of the selected group 1 E Home screen tap Contacts Groups 2 Tapa group entry

Create folder f icon Enter a folder name and tap OK A folder is displayed in the original place of the application icon with the application icon displayed on top of it You can now drag other Apps into the folder To view information on an App drag the App icon up to the App info i icon to view information on the application Tap Save Adding a New Page to the Application Menu You can add a new page to your application menu by following these steps 1 2 3 Press to activate the main Home screen Tap EH to display your current applications Tap the Apps tab at the top of the screen if it is not already selected Press and tap Edit Touch and hold the first application that you would like to move to a new page 6 T Drag the icon up to the Create page icon Tap Save The app will appear on a new page Changing the Wallpaper You can change the Wallpaper background of your home screens by following these steps 1 From any Home screen touch and hold on an empty area of the screen The Home screen window is displayed Tap Set wallpaper Select the location where you would like to change the wallpaper Tap Home screen Lock screen or Home and lock screens Tap one of the following options Gallery select a wallpaper from photographs you have taken with your camera Live wallpapers select an animated wallpaper This option is not available for the Lock screen option Wallpapers s

Play Movies you can rent thousands of different movies You can watch instantly or download your movie for offline viewing at a later time 1 From the Home screen tap E Play Movies BB 2 Logon to your Google account if you have not already done so 3 Following the on screen instructions for renting and viewing movies and TV shows 4 Tapthe MOVIES tab to view movies you can rent 5 Tap the PERSONAL VIDEOS tab to view movies you have on your phone or memory card 6 Press for additional options Gallery The Gallery is where you view photos and play back videos For photos you can also perform basic editing tasks view a slideshow set photos as wallpaper or contact image and share as a picture message 1 Tap Gallery All of the Albums that hold your pictures and videos will be displayed with folder name and number of files 2 Tapan Album and thumbnails of the contents will be displayed Note If your device displays that the memory is full when you access Gallery delete some of the files by using My files or other file management applications and try again For more information refer to My Files on page 170 Viewing Pictures 1 Fromthe main gallery Press gt Slideshow to see a slideshow of all of your pictures Multimedia 81 2 a thumbnail to view a single picture Note If no control icons are displayed on the screen in addition to the picture tap anywhere on the screen to display them 3

The following options are available at the top of the screen Share via 9 allows you to share the picture via Group Play Bluetooth ChatON Dropbox Email Flipboard Gmail Google Messaging Picasa S Memo or Wi Fi Direct Edit allows you to edit the picture including Rotate Crop Colour Effect Portrait Sticker Drawing and Frame Delete Ei allows you to delete the picture 4 Press for additional options Viewing Videos Note If no control icons are displayed on the screen in addition to the picture tap anywhere on the screen to display them 1 Tap a video to select it 2 Tap to play the video 82 3 Press for additional options For video player controls see Video on page 80 Using S Beam to Share Pictures This feature when activated via NFC allows you to beam large files directly to another compatible device that is in direct contact These files can be larger such as Videos HD pictures and other large files You can beam images and videos from your gallery music files from your music player and more 1 From the Home screen tap EE gt Settings gt Connections gt 2 If not already active in a single motion touch and slide the slider to the right to turn it 3 Tap 5 Beam and make sure the feature is turned on 4 If not already active in a single motion touch and slide the S Beam slider to the right to turn it on 5 On the source device containing the desir
13. a designated number instead of your voicemail number when there is no answer on your phone You can also select the amount of time that the phone delays before forwarding Forward when unreachable allows you to forward voice calls to a designated number instead of your voicemail number when you are not in an area covered by your service provider or when your phone is switched off Call Settings To access the Call settings menu m From the Home screen tap 3 Call settings From the Home screen tap gt Settings gt My device gt Call For more information refer to Call Settings on page 119 Section 4 Entering Text This section describes how to select the desired text input method when entering characters into your phone This section also describes the predictive text entry system that reduces the amount of key strokes associated with entering text Your phone comes equipped with an orientation detector that can tell if the phone is being held in an upright Portrait or sideways Landscape orientation This is useful when entering text Text Input Methods There are three text input methods available Samsung keyboard default Samsung s on screen QWERTY keypad that can be used in both portrait and landscape orientation Google Voice typing allows you to enter text by speaking To change the input method see Keyboards and Input Methods on page 128 Entering Text Using the Samsung Key

15. appear in a smaller box in the middle of your screen Switching Between Calls When you have an active call and a call on hold you may Switch between the two calls changing the one on hold to active and placing the other on hold 1 Tap Swap The current call caller 2 is placed on hold and the previous call on hold caller 1 is then reactivated so that you can continue conversing with that person The active call will appear in a green box 2 Tap A to end the currently active call Call Functions 51 To end specific call 1 Tap Swap until the call you want to end appears in a green box 2 Tap to end the specific call 3 Tap to end the remaining call To answer a call while you have a call in progress 1 Tap and slide to the right to answer another call 2 Tap Putting Name Number on hold to put the first call on hold or Tap Ending call with Name Number to end the first call 3 To switch between the two calls tap Swap Swap Places the current call on hold and then activates the previous call The active call will appear in a green box Tap Swap again to switch back To end a call on hold 1 Tap to disconnect the active call 2 The call on hold will now become the active call Tap to end the call 52 3 Way Calling Multi Party Calling The 3 Way or Multi Party feature allows you to answer a series of incoming calls and place them on hold If this service is supported by the net

23. or deactivate the sharing options I 9 a Hide Quick settings Camera and Camcorder Settings This section describes the different settings that you can configure on your camera Not all of the following options are available in both still camera and video camera modes The available options vary by mode 1 From the viewfinder tap Settings The follow settings are located under the Camera Camcorder and General tabs The settings that are displayed will depend on what camera mode you are in Camera Photo size Select a resolution for photos Use higher resolution for higher quality Higher resolution photos take up more memory Burst shot Take multiple shots in quick succession by tapping and holding the Camera key Face detection This option places the focus on any faces that are detected when you take a photo Metering Select the area of the image where exposure is measured Centre weighted Matrix or Spot ISO determines how sensitive the light meter is on your digital camera Choose from Auto 100 200 400 or 800 Use a lower ISO number to make your camera less sensitive to light a higher ISO number to take photos with less light or Auto to let the camera automatically adjust the ISO for each of your shots Anti shake Compensates for camera movement Auto night detection Camera detects low light and automatically adjusts live view allowing you to take picture
