Technical User Manual Version 2 2 June 2015 This document covers only the Sqord Booster For up to date information on Sqord software SqordSync or our online experience Sqord Online please visit our online documentation at http www sgord com help The Sqord Booster Box Contents 1 Sqord Booster 2 Wrist Band 3 Instruction Fold Out Warning Caution e The Sqord Booster is intended as a fun device to measure a player s everyday activity Sqord strongly cautions players to be very careful and focused on safety when undertaking any activity and not to take on any activity purely as a way to generate Activity Points e The Booster is not dishwasher safe e The Booster is not intended for inclusion in a laundry machine washer or dryer Operation amp Use Activity Captured The Sqord Booster is contains a 3 axis accelerometer which detects the intensity and duration of movement in any direction Sqord records this activity in 15 minute increments over a period of 7 days Activity not Synced after 7 days is added to the player s overall total but is not assigned to a specific date or time Assembly Insert the Booster into the back of the wrist band The Booster should fit snugly with no movement and no obvious deformation of the band Getting Started The Booster is shipped in sleep mode To get started simply tap it until it blinks The S will blink to indicate that the device is awake and recordin2. ct to the extent permitted by law these are your sole and exclusive remedies This Limited Warranty is valid only in the United States for Products sold in the United States A replacement Product or part assumes the remaining warranty of the original Product or one year 365 days from the date of replacement or repair whichever is longer When a Product or part of the Product is exchanged any replacement item becomes the property of the purchaser or the recipient of the Product at purchaser s discretion and the replaced item becomes Sqord s property Parts provided by Sqord in fulfillment of its warranty obligation must be used in Products for which warranty service is claimed Instructions to Obtain Warranty Service To obtain warranty service you must deliver the Product in either its original packaging or packaging providing an equal degree of protection to the Sqord Coach at a designated local Snohomish County Washington address specified by Sgord In accordance with applicable law Sqord may require that you comply with registration requirements before receiving warranty service For specific instructions on how to obtain warranty service on your Product visit the Sqord website www sqord com help php Exclusions and Limitations This Limited Warranty applies only to the Product manufactured by or for Sqord that can be identified by the Sqord trademark trade name or logo affixed to it and to the Base Station and USB con
3. device may not cause harmful interference and 2 this device must accept any interference received including interference that may cause undesired operation Modifications The FCC requires the user to be notified that any changes or modifications made to this device that are not expressly approved by Sqord Inc may void the user s authority to operate the equipment Shielded cables must be used with the SyncStation to ensure compliance with the Class B FCC limits Warning Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user s authority to operate the equipment 365 Day Limited Warranty Sgord Inc Sqord warrants the Sqord electronic device the Product and the wrist band against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of ONE YEAR 365 days from the date of first sync activation by the user Warranty Period Sqord also warrants the Sqord base station against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of ONE YEAR 365 days from the date of first use Under this Limited Warranty if a hardware defect arises and a valid claim is received by Sqord within the Warranty Period at its option and to the extent permitted by law Sgord will either 1 repair the Product at no charge using new or refurbished replacement parts or 2 exchange the Product with a new or refurbished Product In the event of a defe
4. g your Activity Points Account Setup Though the Booster is recording its wearer s activity even without being connected to a permanent account a player must set up an account at SQORD COM in order to login and fully participate in the online experience Once a player is in possession of a Sqord Booster they may go to http www sqord com setup and follow the on screen instructions Note that Sqord is committed to player privacy and security and all players under 13 years of age will be required to obtain parental consent to participate in some Sqord features and functions Full documentation on the online experience is available at http www sqord com help Wear The Booster may be worn in the provided band or in any other location on the body Sqord recommends wearing the Booster where it will record the most activity In some cases that may suggest carrying the Booster in a pocket or wearing it in the band around the player s ankle Normal Use The Sqord Booster is designed to be used in even the most strenuous activities that a player may undertake as part of their everyday activity It is highly impact resistant and IP rated 68 which means it is 100 dust tight and suitable for use under water at a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes Accuracy In lab conditions Boosters record activity within 1 to 3 accuracy and consistency from unit to unit In real world conditions especially when worn by active players results will

8. vary greatly and players can expect a range of 10 deviation for activities that are perceived to be identical This is due to variances in activity from session to session that may be imperceptible to a human wearer but that can make a difference to the Activity Points earned especially when there is high intensity or long duration of activity Note that players with shorter stride lengths typically younger smaller players will record more Activity Points for walking the same distance as their older counterparts This is because they re taking more steps and doing more work to cover the same distance Syncing Mobile App The easiest method of syncing is by use of the Sqord mobile app which can be downloaded from the iOS App Store or the Android Market from a compatible device Once downloaded launch the app Then simply tap your Booster until it blinks to sync the data it has recorded A results screen will appear with your Activity Points and other information displayed Syncing SqordBoard Players may also sync at any public SqordBoard displayed in their communities A SgordBoard can commonly be found in a participating school community center library or business Syncing Desktop Laptop It is also possible to sync on a desktop laptop computer with Bluetooth BLE capability or a USB connected Bluetooth BLE adapter available through Sqord using Sqord s SqordSync software Visit sgord com help for more informati
