17. mmunication to take place between the components in an Akurate DS system the RS232 Setup settings must be correctly configured on the Akurate Kontrol and Akurate CD Akurate Kontrol The correct RS232 Setup settings are Baud Rate 9600 Parity Even Data Bits 7 Stop Bits 1 RS232 Events Enabled To access the setup menus Using the handset e Press AMP then SETUP on the handset Using the front panel e Hold SELECT on the front panel until MAIN MENU SPEAKER SETUP is shown on the display To navigate through the menus and options e Use the w keys on the handset or front panel To make a selection e Press on the handset or SELECT on the front panel To exit the setup menus e Press SETUP on the handset or select EXIT from the MAIN MENU if changes have been made you will be prompted to save or not save the changes Akurate CD The RS232 Baud Rate user option must be set to 9600 the other RS232 user options will be configured automatically To access the user options e Press on the handset or press and hold on the front panel to enter standby e Hold 4 on the front panel until the display shows User Options To change a user option e Repeatedly press or hold or on the front panel or handset to select the required user option e Repeatedly press or hold 4 or to change the setting of the user option To save settings and exit user options e Press on the front panel or h

20. r the user to find 2 Copy the Linn GUI installer to the wireless control point Install the Linn Config on the PC laptop the customer will use to rip CDs This will allow the customer to make changes to their system s 3 Copy the Linn Config installer onto the installation PC laptop setup e g add a new source and run the diagnostic tools 4 Run both the installers Do not launch the Linn GUI or Linn Config at this time 5 Onthe control point disable the Auto Right Click behaviour This can be done by locating the notification area at the bottom right of the Windows screen and clicking the Touchkit USB Controller icon e Select the Setting tab e Press the Option button e Deselect Enable Auto Right Click 6 The Linn GUI and Linn Config must be given firewall permissions to allow them to operate If the PC laptop uses the Windows Firewall the Linn software will be added automaticaly providing you have admin rights on the PC laptop If a different firewall is used consult the vendor s manual for instructions on how to add the Linn software to the list of permissions 12 AKURATE DS SYSTEM INSTALLATION AND SETUP 7 AKURATE DS INSTALLATION Positioning The Akurate DS can be positioned almost anywhere but please consider This section describes how to connect the Akurate DS player into a Linn the following points hi fi system e The unit should be placed on a flat stable and rigid surface Unpacking The Aku
