3. available to accommodate different patients Application of the Vasc Band 1 Using sterile technique open the pouch and transfer the Vasc Band and syringe into the sterile field 2 Atthe end of the catheterization procedure withdraw the introducer sheath 2 3cm from the puncture site In0042 Rev 08 ii rascular OLUTIONS 3 Align the center of the Vasc Band balloon 2 5mm proximal to the puncture site and wrap the Vasc Band straps around the patient s extremity Secure he device to the patient s extremity using the hook and loop fastener For optimal fit secure the band around the extremity allowing no room for slack but do not overtighten the band 4 Draw 18ml of air into the Vasc Band inflation syringe and connect the syringe o the inflation valve on the Vasc Band 5 Slowly inject air into the Vasc Band balloon while simultaneously removing he sheath from the vessel Once the sheath is completely removed continue 0 inject air into the balloon until hemostasis is achieved Note The nominal air injection volume for the Vasc Band is 15ml and the maximum air injection volume is 18ml 6 Slowly withdraw air from the Vasc Band balloon until there is oozing from he puncture site Once oozing is observed re inject 2ml of air into the Vasc Band until complete hemostasis is achieved 7 Record the patient s vital signs and assess perfusion by means of color sensation and temperature q5 minutes x 3 After the first 15 m
4. diseases at the site of puncture For radial artery catheterization only patients with an abnormal Allen test or radial pulse or insufficient dual arterial supply Not intended for femoral artery compression WARNINGS Patients should not be left unattended while the Vasc Band is in use Ensure correct alignment of the Vasc Band prior to use Donotinject air into any port other than the air injection port of this device Do not leave Vasc Band on for inappropriately long periods of time as tissue damage may occur Arterial pulse distal to the compression site should be monitored to ensure the artery is not completely occluded as arterial damage and or thrombosis could occur 2014 Vascular Solutions Inc English English PRECAUTIONS Ensure correct placement of Vasc Band The product is intended for single use only Do not reuse or re sterilize Do not use if package is opened or damaged Over inflation of balloon gt 18ml could cause balloon damage compromising the performance of the Vasc Band ADVERSE EVENTS Potential adverse events include allergic reaction vessel occlusion local venous thrombosis hematoma formation recurrent bleeding peripheral nerve damage and complex regional pain syndrome CLINICAL PROCEDURE Carefully inspect the Vasc Band packaging and components for damage prior to use It is important to properly size the Vasc Band to the patient s extremity There are five sizes

7. dispositif doit tre retir retirer 2 ml d air du bracelet Vasc Band et v rifier que le site d insertion ne saigne pas 2 Encas desaignement injecter le niveau d air n cessaire pour restaurer l h mostase Attendre 30 minutes et recommencer l tape 1 du protocole de retrait 3 Si aucun saignement ne survient continuer de retirer 2 ml d air toutes les 15 minutes pendant 45 minutes ou jusqu ce qu il n y ait plus de pression 4 Une fois la pression rel ch e et l h mostase confirm e retirer doucement le bracelet Vasc Band du site d insertion en prenant soin de ne pas d ranger le caillot Appliquer un pansement ad quat Le bracelet Vasc Band doit tre utilis par des m decins form s aux proc dures pour lesquelles le dispositif est destin Les techniques et proc dures d crites ne repr sentent pas TOUS les protocoles m dicalement acceptables et elles ne sont pas con ues comme un substitut pour l exp rience et le jugement du m decin lors du traitement de tout patient particulier Toutes les donn es disponibles doivent tre consid r es avant de d terminer un plan de traitement sp cifique y compris les signes et les sympt mes du patient ainsi que tout autre r sultat de tests diagnostics Remarque si besoin un m tre ruban est disponible pour Vascular Solutions Pour utiliser le m tre ruban 1 Avec le c t color visible du ruban placer l extr mit de D BUT bleue du ruban au niveau du site d insertion
8. e laissant pas de mou mais sans trop le serrer Prendre 18 ml d air dans la seringue de gonflage du bracelet Vasc Band et connecter la seringue la valve de gonflage du bracelet Injecter doucement de l air dans le ballonnet du bracelet Vasc Band tout en retirant simultan ment la gaine du vaisseau Une fois la gaine retir e en int gralit continuer d injecter de l air dans le ballon jusqu ce que l h mostase soit obtenue Remarque le volume nominal d injection d air pour le bracelet Vasc Band est de 15 ml et le volume maximal d injection est de 18 ml Retirer doucement l air du ballonnet du bracelet Vasc Band jusqu ce que le site d insertion commence suinter Une fois que le suintement se produit r injecter 2 ml d air dans le bracelet Vasc Band jusqu obtenir une h mostase compl te Inscrire les signes vitaux du patient et valuer la perfusion en observant la couleur la sensation et la temp rature toutes les 5 minutes pendant 15 minutes Apr s les 15 premi res minutes inscrire les signes vitaux et valuer la perfusion toutes les 15 minutes pendant 45 minutes puis toutes les 30 minutes jusqu au retrait du dispositif Le bracelet Vasc Band doit demeurer sur l extr mit du patient pendant deux heures apr s le cath t risme moins d un ordre contraire du m decin ou que l tat du patient ne l exige 2014 Vascular Solutions Inc French Francais Retrait du dispositif 1 Au moment o le

10. inutes record vital signs and assess perfusion q15 minutes x 3 then q30 minutes until initiating device removal 8 The Vasc Band should be left on the patient s extremity for two hours following catheterization unless directed otherwise by physician s orders or patient conditions 2014 Vascular Solutions Inc English English Device Removal 1 At the recommended device removal time withdraw 2ml of air from the Vasc Band and observe the puncture site for bleeding 2 If bleeding is present inject enough air to restore hemostasis Wait 30 minutes and then repeat step 1 ofthe removal protocol 3 Ifno bleeding is present continue to remove 2ml of air q15 minutes x 3 or until pressure is fully released 4 When pressure is released and hemostasis confirmed carefully remove the Vasc Band from the puncture site being careful not to disrupt the clot Apply dressing of choice The Vasc Band should be used by physicians trained on the procedures for which the device is intended The techniques and procedures described do not represent ALL medically acceptable protocols nor are they intended as a substitute for the physician s experience and judgment in treating any specific patient All available data including the patient s signs and symptoms and other diagnostic test results should be considered before determining a specific treatment plan Note If needed a sizing aid is available from Vascular Solutions To use the s
