Exploration into a proper way of adjusting ribbed belts Satoshi Shimobora Shigeki Yamada Kazunori Shimada The purpose of this study is to explore into ribbed belt adjustment The ribbed belt needs to be replaced regularly on account of wear and tear Importantly it is difficult for inexperienced mechanics to adjust ribbed belts We conducted an experiment on 36 mechanic aspiring students by making them engage in replacing and adjusting the ribbed belts on actual vehicles We confirmed most of them were 2 ribbed belts maintenance to minutiae like the turns of screw and the proper distance among pulley We are convinced that the ways we came up with work well in training students for the ribbed belt adjustment Key Words maintenance ribbed belt adjustment mechanics students I
