B M 40 SR61T Tethered Scanner User s Guide Chapter 5 Troubleshooting and Maintaining the SR61T Maintaining the SR61T To keep your SR61T in good working order you may need to upgrade the SR61T firmware and clean the scanner window Upgrading the SR61T You may need to upgrade the SR61T firmware if there is an update that incorporates changes to a feature or adds functionality to the scanner When you upgrade your scanner the current settings are erased and replaced with the default settings The process of upgrading the SR61T takes about 10 minutes to complete To upgrade the SR61T you need e An RS 232 USB or download cable For more information on cables see Required Accessories on page 5 Minimum PC operating system requirements are Microsoft amp Windows XP with SP2 or Microsoft Windows 2000 with SP4 or higher versions e EasySet version 5 6 4 0 or later with WinFlash version 3 1 1 1 or later Thefirmware update file bin not using the selected COM port for any other application or you Note Before you start the upgrade process make sure that you are receive an error and cannot use the COM port To upgrade the SR61T firmware 1 Download the latest SR61T firmware update package from the Intermec web site at www intermec com a Goto Support gt Downloads b From the Product Category drop down list choose Bar Code Scanners c From the Product Family drop down list
