4. by both  arms    When the wash is completed  do remember    to reset the upper arm to the original position     holes on the top      21    Loading the rinse aid    The rinse aid dispenser  which automatically  dispenses the right amount of rinse aid at  the proper time  ts located inside the  dishwasher door    This special liquid product is essential to  ensure prompt drying of the crockery and to  make tt come out crystal clear since it  prevents formation of stains due to the salts  contained in the water    Filling  Open the container by turning the lid  A   anticlockwise  Fig  QD      Add rinse aid until the indicator  B   Fig  QD     gces completely dark when the container is  full    Remember to replace and tighten the lid  after every refill     Clean up any rinse aid spilt during filling with  an absorbent cloth to avoid excessive  foaming during the next wash cycle    Add rinse aid again when the indicator  B   becomes clear    Adjusting the dose    According to the finish and drying results  obtained adjust the dose of rinse aid by  means of the 6 position selector  C     Fig       position 1   minimum dose   position 6   maximum dose     Gradually increase the dose if there are  drops of water or lime spots on the dishes  after washing  Reduce it if there are sticky  whitish streaks on the dishes     Loading the detergent    The washing powder should be poured into  the compartment of the container  Fig  Y      If the lid of the container happens to be  closed  t
5. ckwise   Replace the assembly reversing the above  procedure  making sure that the outer rim of  the circular filter fits correctly in its housing  on the tub bottom    The dishwasher should not be operated  without the filters being correctly installed   Periodic cleaning of the filters is essential for  a smooth and efficient operation of the  machine     Cleaning the spray arm nozzles    The holes of the spray arm nozzles should  not be obstructed as this would greatly  reduce the effectiveness of the washing  Cycle  To remove the bottom spray arm  release it from its securing catches  D  and  pull it out  Fig         To clean the nozzles of the top spray arm   slide out the top basket whereby the spray  arm will become perfectly accessible  To  remove it  unhook it from the central support   Fig  9      External cleaning    The control board should be wiped  periodically with a soft damp cloth and  if  necessary  with a little neutral detergent  To  clean these parts  never use abrasive  products which might scratch the surface    Long idle periods    If the machine is not to be used for some  time  it   s advisable to take the following  precautions     Disconnect the machine from the electrical  network and from the water supply     Fill up the rinse aid container     Leave the door ajar to prevent bad smells  from lingering in the machine     Leave the inner part of the machine clean  by  carrying out at least a rinse  amp  hold  programme     If you are moving    If y
6. e has been completed     6  End of Programme  Indicator Light         It indicates that the wash cycle has finished                                                                                a       Loading the crockery    Prior to arranging the crockery in the  baskets  do remove the bigger food scraps   such as tiny bones  fish bones  meat or  vegetable scraps  fruit peels  etc   to prevent  the filter from clogging  which would cause  poor washing results    Open the door and slide out the baskets to  be able to load the crockery     Using the bottom basket   Fig  09 9     The lower basket is designed to take dishes   Salad bowls  cutlery  etc    The cutlery should be placed into the special  small removable basket    To obtain good washing results  it IS  recommended to intermix spoons with  knives and forks so that they will not stick  together    We also suggest that you stack the cutlery  into the special basket with the handles  facing downwards    However  if the handles of your cutlery are  very thin it is advisable to stack the cutlery  with the handles facing upwards  so as to  prevent them from sticking out from the  bottom of the small basket and thereby  blocking the lower spray arm    Place tea spoons and other small cutlery on  the special cutlery rack on one side of the  cutlery basket     Using the top basket  Fig  9   9     The top basket is designed to take dishes   dessert plates  saucers  plus cups and  glasses which should be arranged as shown  in 
7. es               This programme is equivalent to IEC 436 DIN 44990 standard     Recommended quantity of detergent  20 g   otandard place settings  8        This   s a special programme to wash in a short time  approx  32 minutes  a full load of lightly  i soiled dishes  glasses and crockery  except pots  so that you may re use them promptly  Due to    the shortness of this programme  no drying phase is provided     26                            are Ep et         M                                LEA I re                  Care  amp  cleaning    Cleaning the filter assembly    The filter assembly consists of a large  circular fine mesh filter  A  and two small  cone shaped filters  B C   fitting one within  the other  both being housed in the large  filter  Fig  Q     We recommend that you inspect the two  small filters  B  and  C  after each wash  cycle  removing any food scraps that you  might detect    To remove the filter  B   simply lift it up   Fig         To remove the inner filter  C   squeeze  together the two small plastic tongues    Fig  QD   sticking out from the bottom of  outer filter  B     Replace the filters by pushing them back  until you feel they click    The large fine mesh filter  A  should be  cleaned from time to time  roughly once  every two months  on both sides with a  suitable brush    To remove this large filter  A   take off the  bottom spray arm by releasing the catches   D   Fig  Q   and unlock the locking ring   E   Fig      by turning it anticlo

10. lliance    Operation of the water softener is completely  automatic     Salt refilling    After unscrewing the cap  fill 1 kg  of specific  salt for water softeners using the funnel  supplied with the machine into the container  on the tub bottom  Fig   Y      Fill the container with water  this operation  should be carried out during the first salt  filling only     Carefully replace the container screwcap   making sure that the threading and the  gasket have no trace of salt     After this  it will be sufficient to periodically  top up the container with salt only  This  model features a salt refill indicator on the  control panel     Note     Salt refilling is not required for a water  hardness up to 7   dH     All salt refilling and topping up operations  should be carried out immediately prior to  starting any one of the complete wash cycles   with the exception of the RINSE  amp  HOLD  programme  in order to prevent the  possibility that any salt granules or salt water   which might flow out of the salt container  during refilling of the same  remain for some  time on the bottom of the wash tub without  being properly diluted     Important    Use only specific salt for dishwashers     23              M                Adjusting the water softener    The water softener can treat water hardness  up to 50  dH  German Scale  via 5  adjustment levels     This appliance is supplied with a test strip      AQUATEST   so that you can test the water  hardness up to 22  dH    With 
11. o open it simply push back catch  D   which keeps it clamped down     Quantity of detergent     he quantity to be loaded depends on the  brand used  on the degree of soil and type of  load  On the average  we recommend 3  teaspoontuls  20 grams  if you have to wash  normally soiled crockery  and up to 4  teaspoonfuls  25 grams  for heavily soiled  crockery    After loading the detergent in the proper  compartment  close the lid  The detergent  will be automatically dispensed at the proper  time     For the Intensive programme    When using this programme it is necessary  to add to the normal quantity of detergent an  additional dose of 10 g  2 level teaspoons   on the closed lid of the dispenser     important    Only use detergents specially made for  dishwashers    To obtain fine washing results you should  only use top quality detergents    An insufficient quantity of detergent will give  poor washing results  whereas an excessive  quantity will not improve the results but will  only represent a waste     Water softener    Depending on the area  water contains more  or less limestone and mineral salts which  tend to deposit on the crockery forming  whitish markings that eventually cause all  Surfaces to become dull    The dishwasher incorporates a water  softener which purifies the water of all  limestone for dishwashing    In this way the cleaning action ts greatly  enhanced  no incrustations form and during  the rinsing phases the crockery is restored to  its original bri
12. or the controls to  be used     Push the ON OFF Button OD  1  to switch the  appliance on     The Indicator Lights 4  5  and 1  6  will  come on     Attention  should the END indicator light    gt    6  not come on  it means that the  previously selected programme hasn t  finished  In this case  wait until the cycle is  over or cancel the programme  see Cancel  the Wash Program      Depress the button  2  which corresponds to  the programme you have selected  until the  indicator light 3   6  goes out     Close the door  the machine will begin  operation     Stopping the machine    T e machine stops automatically and an  audible signal will sound for about 2  seconds     Open the door only after the end of the  audible signal  The ON          5  and END     6  indicator lights illuminate     Depress button  D  1  to switch off the  appliance     Turn off the water supply and disconnect the  appliance from the electric network     Wait a few minutes before removing the  dishes  in this way you will avoid burning  your fingers and the drying will be  improved                   a                   Cancel the Wash Programme    If you wish to cancel the cperating  programme and select a new programme  instead of a previously selected one  foilow  these instructions     2 N  depress contemporaneously m and 7  buttons when the appliance is on     Close the door  After a few minutes an  audible signal will Sound the appliance can  be programmed again     Wait for the end of the audib
13. ou are moving and the dishwasher is  transferred to a new location  make sure that  the machine is not tilted too much during  transport     27    Helpful Hints    For best washing results     Before loading  remove all the scraps of food  and soak very heavily soiled pots and pans     Always arrange Saucepans  cups and  glasses etc  upside down     Tilt items with convex or concave surfaces so  that the water drains off easily     Long items of cutlery such as ladles  carving  knives etc  should be positioned horizontally  in the upper basket     Avoid contact between the dishes as far as  possible  correct arrangement of the items  will give better washing results     Light items  plastic bowls etc   should be  loaded in the upper basket and arranged so  that they do not move during washing     To save energy    Do not prewash the dishes under running  water     Place the dishes in the machine immediately  after every meal and wait until the  dishwasher ts full before washing     If necessary run the Rinse and Hold  programme  see Programme Chart on the  following pages   so that any food scraps do    not become caked on the dishes while you  are waiting to run the complete wash  programme     Select the economic programme when the    baskets are not very full and or when the    dishes are not very soiled following the               28    nstructions given in the Programme Chart  economy programme  quick programme      Items not suitable for  dishwasher    The following sho

16. the respective pictures     Top basket raising  amp  lowering    If very big plates  over 27 cm and up to 31  cm in diameter  are normally used  the top  basket will have to be raised to the upper  position  This will make it possible to  properly arrange these extra large plates in  the bottom basket  To raise the top basket   move the front runner stops  A   Fig     of    the UPPER basket outward and slide the    basket out     Refit the basket in the higher position and  replace the stops  A  in the original position   With the top basket on this upper position    there is of course less loading clearance in  the basket itself  which will in fact only take  dishes up to to 20 cm  and this will also  prevent utilization of the basket s raised cup  compartments     Important    When loading the crockery be absolutely  sure not to accidentally obstruct the water  inlet funnel at the centre of the upper basket   Only a correct loading of the dishwasher will  ensure good washing results    After loading the crockery  make sure that the  spray arms turn freely     Heversible spray arm    ll a small load ol heavily soiled crockery is to  be washed  this can be placed only into the  bottom basket  At the same time the upper  spray arm position should be reversed as  per Fig  O     To do so  unhook the upper spray arm from  the central support and re fit it in a reverse  position  holes on the bottom     In this way the wash efficiency is improved   as the bottom basket is sprayed 
17. to a  3 4  gas thread spout  Fig      or to a  quick coupling tap  Press Block   Make sure  that the water supply pressure is within the  limits Indicated under the technica  data   The machine is backflooding proof     The water stop device protects against water  damages caused by leaks on the fill hose  which could develop due to natural ageing of  the hose    In the water stop system the leaking water  fills the corrugated hose and activates a stop  valve which cuts off the water supply to the  machine    This fault is shown by a red sector on the  window  A   Fig        Would this occur  please turn off the water  tap and refer to your Service Agent to  replace the hose     Water outlet connection    The outlet hose should be firmly hooked  over the edge of a sink or connected under  the sink or to a suitable waste pipe in the  wall which should incorporate an airbreak   Fig        The top of the drain hose should not be  lower than 30 cm  minimum  or higher than  100 cm  maximum  from the floor level    Fig         The water should be able to drain freely and   therefore  the outlet hose should not be  choked or placed in such a way as to  obstruct the normal water flow    If an extension of the hose is required  it  Should not exceed 2 meters and the  extension itself should have the same inner  diameter as the machine drain hose      as mm a      n m    Electrical connection    The machine operates on a rated voltage of  230V  50Hz   Maximum power absorbed is  approx
