Radio Systems Corporation will not be liable for unintended use and the purchaser of this product accepts full responsibility for oversight of the opening it creates The user prior to installation must become familiar with all building codes that may affect the installation of the pet door and determine along with a licensed contractor its suitability in a given installation This pet door is not a fire door It is important for the owner and contractor to consider any risks that may be present inside or outside of the pet door and any risks that may be created by subsequent changes to your property and how they may relate to the existence and use including misuse of the pet door NOTE Read all instructions before starting Installation Instructions and Cutting Template on other side 4 Template for Pet Door Insert 9 eee 26 ge Ci SSS ieee See ee ae eee ee eae eee eee Step 1 Begin at least 3 from the bottom of the door draw a horizontal line Find the center of the door and draw a vertical line crossing the horizontal line Use this center point to cut a 23 wide by 26 1 4 high cut out Step 2A The PetSafe Panel Pet Door Insert is partially assembled for shipping purposes and will need to be detached before getting started When removing the screws set them aside in a safe place to be used later This is a good time to decide the rise orientation see below For a short pet rotate the panel so the2. 8 rise is on the bottom For taller pets place the 10 1 4 rise on the bottom How to choose the right option Rise is the height from the floor to the bottom of the flap in the pet door In other words it is the height the pet must step over to enter or exit the pet door The PetSafe Panel Pet Door Insert conveniently comes with the rise already calculated If you have a short or small pet select the 8 rise option If your pet is tall or larger select the 10 1 4 rise option The rise must be determined prior to installing the pet door by rotating the inserts 180 degrees and selecting which option best fits your pet Note The PetSafe Panel Pet Door Insert rise takes into account 3 to clear bottom reinforced edges of homeowner s door Step 2B tf you plan on painting the PetSafe Panel Pet Door Insert we recommend doing it at this point prior to installation The only parts paintable are the Interior and Exterior Panels Dual Flap Mount Bottom Mount Interior Cover Plate Exterior Cover Plate and the Finishing Plugs see Expanded View on front page Parts should be primed before painting T grooves on the Exterior Panel Insert the Dual Flap Mount and Bottom Mount should not be painted to allow movement after installation Also make sure the Butyl sealant is in place and mounted properly in the recessed edge of Exterior Panel Do not cover the Butyl sealant with primer or paint Do not take Butyl tape

4. le openings with the Exterior Cover Plate at the same time using 5 M3 5 x 1 3 x 16 BT screws At this point match and slide T grooves on Dual Flap Mount with the T guides on the Exterior Panel Insert Before installing Finishing Plugs adjust the flap height the flap should be just low enough that the bottom mount magnets jump slightly to catch the magnet on the flap Now secure the fully assembled Dual Flap Mount to the Exterior Panel Insert with 4 M3 5 x 1 3 x 16 BT screws Finish tightening screws Step 7 Install painted 40 Finishing Plugs into each screw hole Step 8 Check Homeowner s Guide is secured to inside of Closing Panel Now snap Closing Panel in place the tooth on the bottom of the Closing Panel will slide into place first then sides snap last Note M3 5 x 1 3 x 20 BT is 3 5mm diameter 1 3mm thread pitch and 20mm length of BT screws Note M3 5 x 1 3 x 16 BT is 3 5mm diameter 1 3mm thread pitch and 16mm length of BT screws Note M3 5 x 1 3 x 10 BT is 3 5mm diameter 1 3mm thread pitch and 10mm length of BT screws WARRANTY The PetSafe Panel Pet Door Insert comes with a 1 year product warranty Be sure to save your receipt for proof of purchase to get the most protection out of your product warranty Please register your PetSafe Panel Pet Door Insert within 30 days at www petsafe net By registering you will benefit from the product s warranty and should you ever need to call PetSafe s Customer Ca
5. off until Interior and Exterior Panels fit door cut out opening properly Step 3 Install Interior Panel on the inside of the door and Exterior Panel from the outside of the door Remove Butyl sealant tape at this time Use 25 M3 5 x 1 3 x 20 BT screws to connect the Interior and Exterior Panels Step 4 Take the Bottom Mount and slide the 2 magnets onto the Bottom Mount one on each track Now match and slide T grooves on Bottom Mount with T guides on the bottom opening of the Exterior Panel Insert depending on the rise orientation Use 4 M3 5 x 1 3 x 16 BT screws to complete this part of the installation Step 5 Prepare both Hinge Plate Assemblies trapping the Flap between the lower hinges Use 5 M3 5 x 1 3 x 10 BT screws to attach flap to hinges for each hinge plate assembly Make sure the heads of the screws on the lower part of the hinge are facing inboard to avoid seeing them when the assembly is installed Do not over tighten Step 6 Install the first Hinge Plate Assembly to the interior side of the Dual Flap Mount interior side shows 7 total screw hole openings using 5 M3 5 x 1 3 x 16 BT screws then attach the Interior Cover Plate with 2 M3 5 x 1 3 x 16 BT screws Tighten the screws only enough to hold the Hinge Plate Assemblies in place as they will need to be tightened later when adjusting flap Install the other Hinge Plate Assembly to the exterior side of the Dual Flap Mount exterior side shows 11 total screw ho
