You Need Assistance TUMBLE PRESS Setting 3 If You Need Service Mixed Loads 4 If You Have a Problem 2 1984 Whirlpool Corporation Your Responsibilities Read this Use and Care Guide and your Dryer Guide carefully for important use and safety information You are personally responsible for making sure that your dryer e is installed by a qualified installer e is properly maintained eis installed in an area protected from the weather eis properly installed and leveled in a well ventilated room on a floor that can support the weight Safety first ALWAYS unplug the power sup ply cord or turn off electrical power before attempting to service the dryer Shut off the GAS VALVE if yours is a gas dryer ALWAYS shut off the gas valve before leaving on vacation NEVER use flammable fluids dry cleaning soivents gasoline kerosene in or near your dryer ALWAYS hand launder or air dry fabrics treated with flammable fluids before putting them into your dryer NEVER dry items containing wax or paint in the dryer The fumes can create a FIREHAZARD FIRE HAZARD and DAMAGE to some materials can result from e drying heat sensitive mate rials with heat see page 4 e operating the dryer with the lint screen loose damaged or missing e allowing lint to build up inside the dryer see page 9 NEVER allow children to oper ate play with or crawl inside the dryer e is located in an area w

9. ith different kinds and weights of fabrics use the cycle suggested for the lightest fab rics When the dryer stops remove dry items and reset the control To reduce wrinkling take the load from dryer as soonas tumbling stops This is important for permanent press knits and synthetic fabrics Drying times will vary depending on e amount of moisture in the clothes e type and weight of fhe fabric e size of the load e room temperature around the dryer e temperature of the wash rinse water e amount of lint in the lint screen e dryer temperature selection See page 6in your Dryer Guide for more information Lint screen Clean the lint screen before each load A screen blocked by lint can increase drying time and may be a FIRE HAZARD Open the lid and pull the lintscreen ROLL the lint off the screen straight out with your fingers DO NOT run the dryer with DO NOT rinse or wash the screen the lint screen loose Push the screen firmly back into damaged or missing place Doing so can cause over heating can damage fabrics and can be a FIRE HAZARD Lint removal Lint can gather inside the dryer and create a fire hazard This lint should be removed every 2 to 3 years or more often depending on dryer usage Heat Element Terminals QO xa lt Z mo nm c Z pur nm 19 W ani m zZ Z a m 5 lt gt m ELECTRIC DRYERS GAS DRYERS Cleaning shoul
