1. 3 Start the washer Bleach will be diluted automatically during the wash part of the cycle MAGIC CLEAN lint filter The lint filter in your washer cleans itself Collected lint is drained away with the wash and rinse water If your washer drains into a tub remove any lint collected in the drain or strainer 11 bar m ad J mi 6 A tr c9 A Other Operating Instructions Continued Storage Standpipe tub Plastic strainer Storage Suds tub return hose In tub standpipe Plastic strainer Storage Drain tub tub Plastic strainer Plastic strainer SUDS MISER System The SUDS MISER System has two drain hoses One hose moves a portion of the used wash water into a storage tub then back into the washer for use during the next wash The other hose carries the wash water to a standpipe drain or to another tub with an open drain A standpipe drain is available for placement in the drain opening of your tub To order the in tub standpipe ask your nearest Whirlpool dealer for part number 89121 If you do not want to re use the wash water for a load leave out the stopper in the storage tub so the water can drain To save wash water e Make sure the stopper is in the storage tub NOTE The SUDS MISER System does not save the rinse water from any cycle nor does it save the wash water from the PERMANENT PRESS Cycle 2 SUPER

WASH 4 OFF SUDS RETURN PRE WASH To re use wash water 1 Set the Cycle Control Knob on SUDS RETURN Do not add the load items at this time Pull the Cycle Control Knob out The washer will pump most of the wash water from the storage tub back into the washer basket When the wash water has pumped back into the washer push in the Cycle Control Knob Add about 12 the recommended amount of detergent Add the load items Turn the Cycle Control Knob clock wise to the desired cycle and wash time Pull out the Cycle Control Knob to start the washer About one inch of wash water will remain in the tub The water will con tain soils that have settled out Drain the storage tub The end of the suds return hose has a plastic strainer to prevent objects from being pulled into the washer during SUDS RETURN 13 puar L m E m gt Gc Nn md es c a Nn lf You Need Service Or Assistance We suggest you follow these five steps 1 Before calling for assistance Performance problems often result from little things you can find and fix yourself without tools of any kind If your washer does not fill e s the power supply cord plugged into a live circuit with the proper voltage e Are both water faucets open e Have you checked your home s main fuses or circuit breaker box e Are the water supply hoses kinked e Is the C
