1. Calibration Function Occasionally the scale s accuracy should be verified by measuring a known weight of the scale s approximate capacity Tare the scale by pressing ZERO SET place the weight on the platform and note the reading Calibrate the scale if necessary Calibration Procedure You must use a 5 Ib or a 2000g calibrated weight ONLY to properly recalibrate the scale 1 Remove any weight from the scale platform 2 Turn the scale on Select the weight unit to be calibrated lb or g 3 Turn the scale off The weight unit selected will be stored in memory 4 Press and hold down the TARE MODE button While holding down TARE MODE also press the ON OFF button The displays shows CAL then zero Release both buttons 5 Press the TARE MODE button The display shows 5 lb or 2000g Place either the calibrated 5 lb or 2000g weight on the platform depending on which weight unit was selected in Step 2 7 Press the TARE MODE button The display shows CAL F if recalibration is successful The scale returns to weighing mode NOTE if the display shows CAL E recalibration was unsuccessful Repeat above steps d Troubleshooting e If there are no items on the platform but the LCD does not show zero press the TARE MODE button to reset the scale to zero e Overload Warning Should Err appear on the display during a weighing this indicates that the maximum w2.
