5. 3 em Oe 2 6 New File Report This report is printed immediately after you store a document in memory it gives the file number time of sending and destinations including any Group numbers you used 2 7 Memory Transmission Report Function 56 is on this report is automatically printed after every memory transmission whether it was successful or not For your reference a sample of the stored message can be printed below the report if the transmission failed If you wish to enable this feature call your service representative If the transmission failed an error messag may also be printed The messages are the same as those St ot e for the New Polling File Report see item 2 5 on the previous page Note Occasionally a fractional number will appear in the Pages column For example 1 2 means that two pages were stored but only one could be sent If the power fails or is switched off all documents stored in the memory including forwarding files transfer files confidential and substitute rece pti ions and any ECM received data will be erased When power is restored a power failure report is printed informing you of the files that were lost Notes Check the File Type column If there are any files giv

Redialing In memory mode a terminal can be redialed up to 4 times at intervals of 5 5 10 and 5 minutes After each failed redial attempt the Line Fail indicator flashes and the machine asks you to press Stop After all redialing attempts fail an Error Report is printed and the message is erased from memory To cancel redialing erase the document from memory with Function 67 Page Retransmission If ECM is enabled Function 83 any parts of a page that were not sent correctly will be resent automatically However if ECM is not enabled the complete page will be resent the maximum number of retransmission attempts is 2 but this can be increased to 3 by service Address Limitations Note that the total number of addresses stored in the machine for polling reception and memory transmission when added together cannot exceed 400 No more than 79 of these can be full telephone numbers The rest have to be Quick or Speed Dial Voice Request Turnaround Polling These are impossible in memory mode 1 3 Broadcasting You can send a message to up to 200 locations either immediately or at a programmed later time The procedure is the same as for Memory Transmission See page 51 immediate or page 39 Send Later 52 4 ADVANCED FEATURES 1 4 Confidential Transmission the other end has memory and the confidential reception feature you can use confidential trans mission The other end can only print the message after they e

Control Ringer 128 9 INSTALLATION STEP 1 CONNECT THE TELEPHONE TO THE MACHINE Connect the coiled cord into the jack on the machine marked TEL either TEL 1 or TEL 2 STEP 2 CHOOSE YOUR DIALING METHOD The dial switch on the side of the phone can be set for tone TT or dial pulse DP tele phone service Make sure you choose the correct dialing method tone dialing will not work if you have a dial pulse rotary service This switch is usually set only once when you first install the telephone If you change the dialing method you must hang up after reset ting the switch Dial Switch STEP 3 CHECK FOR DIAL TONE Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone you can not hear a dial tone check the connection modular jack and plug OPERATION ANSWERING CALLS AND HANGING UP To get a dial tone or to answer an incoming call lift the handset from the base To hang up either replace the handset in the base or simply press the Hook Switch RINGER VOLUME CONTROL The ringer volume control switch allows ringing at High Middle or Low volume Ringer Switch 129 9 OTHERS MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY INFORMATION Although your telephone is designed to be maintenance free it contains sensitive electronic parts Treat it with care to assure best performance AVOID ROUGH TREATMENT Avoid dropping the handset and replace it gently on the telephone base after use The origina
