15. enter the number s Chapter 12 1 2 Time enter the entire number including zeros when appropriate 45 minutes in to material 4 5 0 O 1 hour 15 minutes 20 seconds 7 1 5 2 O 4 Press PLAY or ENTER to begin playback Note If searching by frame the recorder pauses on the specified frame and waits for a PLAY or other command before continuing Time amp Frame Search Guidelines When issuing a time search playback may begin slightly before or after the indicated time The PRV 9000 is programmed to jump to the closed full frame In DVD technology this full frame is known as an I frame The recorder checks before and after the selected point on the disc for the closed I frame then jumps to that frame To issue a time search to DVD Video and Video format media the disc must be playing The recorder ignores the command if the disc is stopped If Frame Search is ON add a frame number to the end of the time search The frame number needs to be between 0 and frame 24 for the U S standard NTSC 30 frames per second video For example 22 minutes 10 seconds and 5 frames is entered as 2 2 1 0 0 5 When using Frame Search with film material the recorded rate is 24 frames per second The difference between the NTSC video rate of 30 fps and film s 24 fps may cause an exact frame search to fail Film s playback rate causes frame count inaccuracies Note If searching by frame the recorder pauses on the spe

Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION section 1 4 1 VR Mode A production preview option is available on the REC MODE submenus 1 Select the PREVIEW menu button to activate an on screen display of how the material will appear after recording 2 Adjust the picture quality and or recording time as needed Refer to Chapter 7 EDITING FUNCTIONS amp OPTIONS and Chapter 10 DISC SETUP MENU for additional information 3 Press ENTER to accept the displayed settings Unless changes are sent to the recorder the settings are automatically saved after a few seconds and the menu disappears 50 Pioneer sound vision soul PRV 9000 Operating Instructions 4 10 2 Initialize for Video Mode Recording When recording in Video mode DVD R or DVD RW discs select either V1 high quality or V2 standard setting The V2 setting provides approximately twice as much recording time The Settings screen also provides the following information Total disc recording time Data transfer time Remaining recording time available based on the current settings Note Reinitializing a DVD RW disc causes all existing material on that disc to be erased lost To prepare for Video mode recording follow the directions below 1 2 3 Load a disc formatted for Video mode recording Press REC MODE to enter the submenu Use the joystick to highlight the appropriate mode V1 high quality V2 standard Preview the production for picture quality if
