1. 14. 15 The following procedure is required if you receive satellite channels through a satellite receiver Approximately 20 seconds before the SHOWVIEW timer programming lt gt pg 28 or Express timer programming lt pg 30 starts the recorder sets its input mode to L 2 and automatically switches the satellite receiver s channels using the provided Satellite Controller Installing Satellite Controller 1l Situate the Satellite Controller Place the Satellite Controller so that the path between its transmitter and the satellite receiver s remote sensor is unobstructed 2 Attach the Satellite Controller Fix securely using the adhesive strip attached on the back of the Satellite Controller Make connections Be sure to connect the recorder s AV2 L 2 IN DECODER connector to the satellite receiver s 21 pin SCART connector NOTE When connecting your satellite receiver refer to its instruction manual A Connect the Satellite Controller to recorder Connect the Satellite Controller to the SAT CTL connector on the rear panel 16 EN CC C1 Em 4 6 RR ED See EI EM EN EM EE 8 EE EM EN mm mm um um um um d Setting satellite receiver s brand and channel After installation set the satellite receiver s brand and channel correctly otherwise the Satellite Controller cannot work correctly Turn on the TV and select the video channel or AV mode 1l T

When this function is set to ON the recorder automatically switches to LP mode to allow complete recording if there is not enough tape to record the entire programme while timer recording in SP mode For Example Recording a programme of 210 minutes in length onto a 180 minute tape Approximately 150 minutes Approximately 60 minutes Total 210 minutes Make sure you set this function to ON before the timer recording starts NOTES e f you have programmed the recorder to timer record 2 or more programmes the second programme and those thereafter may not fit on the tape if you set AUTO SP LP TIMER to ON In this case make sure the mode is not engaged then set the tape speed manually during timer programming e n order to ensure that the recording fits on the tape this feature may leave a slight non recorded section at the end of the tape e There may be some noise and sound disturbance at the point on the tape where the recorder switches from SP to LP mode e The Auto SP LP Timer feature is not available during ITR Instant Timer Recording and the feature will not work properly with any tapes longer than E 180 or with some tapes of shorter lengths e f you perform timer recording with both VPS PDC and the Auto SP LP Timer activated and the programme goes beyond its originally scheduled length there may be times when the programme cannot be recorded in its entirety When this function is set to ON
