Illumination This watch has an EL electro luminescent panel that T S8 causes the entire display to glow for easy reading in the 5 lz dark Illumination Precautions e The electro luminescent panel that provides illumination loses power after very long use e Illumination may be hard to see when viewed under direct sunlight e The watch may emit an audible sound whenever the display is illuminated This is due to vibration of the EL panel used for illumination and does not indicate malfunction e Illumination automatically turns off whenever an alarm sounds e Frequent use of illumination runs down the battery To illuminate the display In any mode except when a setting screen is on the display press 8 to turn on illumination e You can use the procedure below to select either 1 5 seconds or 3 seconds as the illumination duration When you press the illumination will remain on for about 1 5 seconds or 3 seconds depending on the current setting To specify the illumination duration 1 In the Timekeeping Mode hold down until the ady seconds start to flash which indicates the setting screen 2 While the seconds are flashing press 8 to toggle the illumination duration between 1 5 seconds and 3 seconds 3 Press to exit the setting screen Reference This section contains more detailed and technical information about watch operation It also contains important precautions and notes about

MA0607 EA Operation Guide 3057 About This Manual e Button operations are indicated using the letters shown in the illustration e Each section of this manual provides you with the information you need to perform operations in each mode Further details and technical information can be found in the Reference section General Guide e Press to change from mode to mode e In any mode except when a setting screen is on the display press B to illuminate the display Timekeeping Mode World Time Mode Timekeeping Use the Timekeeping Mode to set and view the current PM indicator time and date Day of week Seconds Read this before you set the time and date The times displayed in the Timekeeping Mode and World Time Mode are linked Because of this make sure you select a city code for your Home City the city where you normally use the watch before you set the time and date e To view the current Home City code setting press while in the Timekeeping Mode e For full information on city codes see the City Code Month Day Table Hour Minutes To set the time and date In the Timekeeping Mode hold down until the seconds start to flash which indicates the setting screen 2 Press to move the flashing in the sequence shown below to select other settings Seconds City Code DST Hour gt Minutes Day lt Month Year j 12 24 Hour Format

12. the various features and functions of this watch Button Operation Tone The button operation tone sounds any time you press one of the watch s buttons You can turn the button operation tone on or off as desired e Even if you turn off the button operation tone the alarm Hourly Time Signal and Countdown Timer Mode alarm all operate normally To turn the button operation tone on and off In any mode except when a setting screen is on the display hold down to toggle the button operation tone on X not displayed and off 3 displayed e Since the button is also the mode change button holding it down to turn the button operation tone on or off also causes the watch s current mode to change e The X indicator is displayed in all modes when the button operation tone is turned off Auto Return Features e If you leave the watch in the Alarm Mode for two or three minutes without performing any operation it changes to the Timekeeping Mode automatically e If you leave a screen with flashing digits or a cursor on the display for two or three minutes without performing any operation the watch saves any settings you have made up to that point and exits the setting screen automatically Scrolling The B and buttons are used in various modes and setting screens to scroll through data on the display In most cases holding down these buttons scrolls at high speed Initial Screens When you enter the World Time or Alarm Mode
