Technical Bulletin Bulletin No PRO 03 17 Effective Date 2 15 79 Page 1 of 1 Subject VM 2 Piece No 289253 The standard VM 2 valve is a tractor protection valve with two double check valves The valve receives service line signals from both circuits of a dual brake valve E 6 E 7 and from the trailer hand control valve TC 2 VM 2 Piece No 289253 omits the double check valve shuttle and guide which normally receives the TC 2 signal The omitted portions are shown dotted in cross section Figure 1 The port in the cap nut is plugged If 289253 is replaced in service with a standard VM 2 such as 288605 and a pipe plug is placed in the TC 2 port the service line may trap air causing the trailer brakes to drag and keep the stop lamp switch on For 289253 replacement it is recommended that 289253 be used However if necessary a standard VM 2 may be used if the double check shuttle and shuttle guide are removed and the trailer supply plugged 289253 is used exclusively by White and is identified by White No C P N 7901 0006 Pipe Plug Shuttle amp Guide Removed MV 2 289253
