2. 1 Press either the FM or AM button on the main unit 2 Change the frequency using the lt or gt TUNING button Na Press the lt 4 TUNING button to decrease the frequency and press the TUNING button to increase the frequency The TUNED indicator on the display lights up when the station is properly tuned in In FM each press of a TUNING button changes the frequency in 50 kHz steps in AM the frequency changes in steps of 9 or 10 kHz depending on the area in which the unit is used TUNING NA While tuning an FM station if a button is continuously held down for more than 0 5 seconds the frequencies are scanned and tuning automatically stops when a broadcast is received Tuning in an FM stereo radio station When you tune in a stereo FM station the FM STEREO indicator lights up if the signal is sufficiently strong If the signal is weak it CAG may be impossible to tune in the station 1 Press the FM MUTE MODE button on the main unit The FM MUTE indicator turns off This changes the broadcast to mono so interstation noise can be heard MEMORY FM MUTE MODE 2 Select the station to which you want to listen Using preset radio stations Setting a preset station Since 10 AM or FM stations can be stored in each group A B or C a total of 30 stations can be stored in memory MEMORY FM MUTE MODE

14. test tone to adjust the volume level of each of the speakers before using Dolby Pro Logic Surround The test tone pink noise is produced by each speaker in turn so you can match the volume levels of the Front Center and Surround speakers The test tone sequence varies depending on the center mode settings Note You cannot adjust the subwoofer level while the test tone is sounding Refer to Adjusting the volume level of the subwoofer on page 14 for more information Delay time This function is available when you select Dolby Pro Logic or Hall for Surround mode When Dolby Pro Logic is selected The delay time parameter compensates for the difference between the distance from the listening position to the front or center speaker distance L1 and the distance from the listening position to the Surround speaker distance L2 Select 15 20 or 30ms as the delay time following the guidelines below If the value obtained by deducting L2 from L1 is 3 feet 1m or less select 15ms If the value is more than 3 feet 1m but 10 feet 3m or less select 20ms If the value is more than 10 feet 3m select 30ms When Hall is selected Set the delay time to a larger value if you wish to simulate the atmosphere or effect of a large hall If you wish to simulate the atmosphere of a smaller hall set the delay time to a smaller value Select from 15 20 30 40 and 50ms Channel Selector buttton Selects the speaker for volume
