Removing Installing Head Light Assembly Replacing Tiller Charge Port Cover Replacing Cushion Front Bumper Assembly After ANY adjusiments repair or service and BEFORE use make sure thatallatiac hing hard ware istightened sec wely otherwise injury or damage may occur Tum Power OFF and remove key from igni tion Disconnect battery hamess from the motor lead REMOVING INSTALLING HEAD LIGHT ASSEMBLY FIGURE 1 Removing 1 Flip the scooter onto its side 2 Pull back the plastic guards on the RED and BLACK cables connecting the tiller wiring har ness to the head light assembly DETAIL A 3 Disconnect the RED and BLACK cable metal connectors of the head light assembly from the RED and BLACK cable metal connectors of the tiller wiring harness DETAIL A 4 Remove the bolt self locking nut spring washer and washer securing the head light assembly to the front frame assembly 5 Separate the head light assembly from the front frame assembly Installing 1 Align the bolt in the head light assembly with the mounting holes in the front frame assembly 2 Secure the head light assembly to the front frame assembly using the washer spring washer and self locking nut Securely tighten 3 Connect the RED cable metal connector of the head light assembly to the RED cable metal con nector of the tiller wiring harness DETAIL A 4 Connect the BLACK cable metal connector of the head light assembl

12. 94 REPLACEMENT PARTS PANTHER MX 4 Installing NOTE When installing the bolts for the rear shock absorber the TOP and BOTTOM bolts should be facing opposite directions 1 Slide the right rear shock absorber onto the rear frame assembly aligning the mounting hole in the BOTTOM of the right rear shock absorber with the mounting holes in the rear frame assembly DO NOT overtighten the bolt securing the right rear shock absorber to the rearframe assembly Otherwise damage to the right rearshoc k absorbermay oc cur 2 Install one 1 bolt through the BOTTOM mount ing hole in the right rear shock absorber and the BOTTOM mounting holes in the rear frame as sembly making sure the bolt is facing AWAY from the controller Torque the hex cap screws between 122 148 in lbs 3 Align the mounting hole in the TOP of the right rear shock absorber with the mounting holes in the rear frame DO NOT overtighten the bolt securing the nght rear shock absorber to the rear frame assembly Otherwise damage to the right rearshock absorbermay occur 4 Install one 1 bolt through the TOP mounting hole in the right rear shock absorber and the TOP mounting holes in the rear frame assembly mak ing sure the bolt is facing TOWARD the control ler Torque the hex cap screws between 122 148 in lbs 5 Repeat this procedure for the other rear shock absorber 6 Reinstall the rear shroud Refer to REMOVING INSTALLING THE

DO NOTovertighten the self loc king nutsec ur ing the tte rod assembly to the nghtfrontaxle 8 Removethebearing gap nutfrom the steering shaft 9 Remove the TOP bearing bushing from the TOP Otherwise damage to the tie tod assembly bearing housing may occur 10 Remove the TOP bearing from the TOP bearing housing 26 SHROUD FORK WHEELS TIE RODS 19 Secure the NEW tie rod assembly onto the right front axle using the NEW washer and self lock ing nut Torque the NEW self locking nut between 139 165 in lbs 20 Repeat STEPS 17 18 to attach the NEW tie rod assembly to the left front axle 21 Secure the NEW TOP and BOTTOM bearing housing onto the front frame assembly 22 Slide the NEW BOTTOM bearing and the NEW BOTTOM bushing onto the steering shaft NOTE Before installing the NEW steering shaft be sure it is facing toward the tie rods FIGURE 6 23 Slide the NEW steering shaft with the NEW BOT TOM bearing and the NEW BOTTOM bushing through the mounting hole in the front frame as sembly 24 Slide the NEW TOP bearing over the top of the NEW steering shaft and into the NEW TOP bear ing housing DO NOT overtighten the TOP bearing bush ing Otherwise damage to the tie rod assem bly may occur 25 Secure the NEW TOP bearing bushing by screwing it into the NEW TOP bearing housing Torque the NEW TOP bearing bushing between 26 39 in lbs PROCEDURE 5 DO NOTovertighien the bearing gap nut

M E N T N ADD U JmMmMIAZzD U M X 4 PROCEDURE 11 4 Disconnect the hand brake cable assembly Re fer to REMOVING INSTALLING TILLER AS SEMBLY SECTION B DISCONNECTING CONNECTING HAND BRAKE CABLE ASSEM BLY in PROCEDURE 4 of this manual 5 Remove the self locking nut and washer secur ing the brake arm to the cam NOTE Save the spring for reuse when installing the NEW disc brake shoes 6 Remove the spring securing the two 2 disc brake shoes to the brake disc Remove the two 2 disc brake shoes 8 Position the two 2 NEW disc brake shoes on the disc brake and around the cam 9 Secure the NEW disc brake shoes to the disc brake using the EXISTING spring 10 Position the brake arm so the two 2 mounting holes in the brake arm align with the cam DO NOT overtighten the self locking nut se curing the brake arm to the cam Otherwise damage to the brake arm may occur 11 Secure the brake arm to the cam using the EX ISTING self locking nut and washer Torque the self locking nut between 86 122 in Ibs 12 Reconnect the hand brake cable assembly Re fer to REMOVING ANSTALLING TILLER AS SEMBLY SECTION B DISCONNECTING CONNECTING HAND BRAKE CABLE ASSEM BLY in PROCEDURE 4 of this manual 13 Reinstall the rear wheels Refer to REMOVING N STALLING THE REAR WHEELS in PROCEDURE 9 of the Owner s Manual part number 1090132 14 Reinstall the rear shroud Refer to

16. retaining tabs 2 Remove the wires from the two 2 re taining tabs 3 Remove the two 2 short screws wash ers and self locking nuts from the con troller assembly 4 Gently slide the controller and the con troller plate from the rear frame 5 Separate the controller from the control ler plate B LYNX LX 3 and PANTHER LX 4 FIG URE 2 1 Remove the short screw washer and self locking nut from the controller assembly 2 Remove the long screw washer and self locking nuts from the controller assem bly and the retaining tab 3 Remove the retaining tab from the con troller 4 Gently slide the controller and the con troller plate from the rear frame 5 Separate the controller from the control ler plate C PANTHER MX 4 FIGURE 2 1 Remove the two 2 screws washers and self locking nuts from the rear frame 2 Remove the controller from the rear frame controller plate 38 CONTROLLER INSTALLING Perform one of the following A LYNXSX 3andLYNXSX 3P FIGURE 2 1 Gently slide the controller and the control ler plate onto the rear frame making sure the support on the rear frame is positioned in the slot on the controller plate 2 Align the mounting holes in the control ler plate with the mounting holes in the controller 3 Insert the two 2 short screws through the controller and the controller plate and secure them with the washer and self locking nut Securel

91. types of hand held devices such as cordless phones laptop computers AM FM radios TV sets CD players cassette players and small appliances such as electric shavers and hair dryers so far as we know are not likely to cause EMI problems to your powered scooter G U l D E L l N E S Powered Scooter Electromagnetic Interference EMI Because EM energy rapidly becomes more intense as one moves closer to the transmitting antenna source the EM fields from hand held radio wave sources transceivers are of special concem It is possible to unintentionally bring high levels of EM energy very close to the powered scooters control system while using these devices This can affect powered scooter movement and braking Therefore the wamings listed are recommended to prevent possible interference with the control system of the powered scooter Eectromagnetic interference EMI from sources such as radio and TV stations ama teur radio HAM transmitters two way radios and cellular phones can affect pow ered scooters Following the wamings listed should reduce the chance of unintended brake release or powered scooter movement which could result in senous injury 1 Do not operate hand held transceivers transmitters receivers such as cit zens band CB radios or tum ON personal communication devices such as cellular phones while the powered scooter is tumed ON 2 Be aware of nearby transmitters such as radio or TV stations an
