11. ch as direct sunlight fire or the like If you have any questions or problems concerning your unit please consult your nearest Sony dealer G ral information About the battery as a backup power source This unit contains a CR2032 battery as a backup power source to keep the clock and the alarm operating during a power interruption No Power No Problem system NO POWER NO PROBLEM When to replace the battery When the battery is discharged O3 appears on the display If a power interruption occurs while the battery is discharged the current time and alarm will be erased Note e If AM 12 00 flashes on the display when the unit is connected to an AC outlet for the first time the battery may be discharged In this case consult your nearest Sony dealer Replacing the backup battery 1 Keep the AC plug connected to the wall outlet then open the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit Fully loosen the screw iw Push the tab and pull up the lid 2 Remove the old battery by sliding it out and picking it up 3 Insert a new battery into the battery compartment with the side facing up aS CR2032 4 Replace the battery compartment lid and tighten the screw 5 Press AM FM NATURE SOUND to remove cx from the display Notes e When you replace the battery do not disconnect the AC plug from the wall outlet Otherwise the current date and time alarm a

17. nd station presets will be erased e If the clock is erased while you are replacing the battery set the clock again See Setting the clock manually e If the unit will be left unplugged for a long time remove the battery to avoid any damage that may be caused by leakage or corrosion Troubleshooting Should any problems persist after you have made the following checks consult your nearest Sony dealer The clock flashes 0 00 or AM 12 00 after a power interruption e The battery is discharged Remove the old battery and insert a new one Unsatisfactory reception e Extend the FM wire antenna fully to increase reception sensitivity e Connect the supplied AM loop antenna to the unit Rotate the antenna horizontally for optimum reception e Do not place the AM loop antenna near the unit or other AV equipment as noise may result e Keep digital music players or mobile phones away from the AM loop antenna or the FM antenna as this may lead to reception interference The alarm does not sound at the preset alarm time e Check that A or B appears on the display The radio or Nature Sound alarm is activated but no sound is emitted at the preset alarm time e Check the alarm volume setting When daylight saving time summer time begins the clock does not switch to daylight saving time summer time automatically e Make sure the clock is set correctly e When Aut On ap
